thats almost as hard as deciding between my left leg or my right leg...

Im gonna have to go with Janis though...and I have reason...Hendrix is soooo commercially spread...I know kids who have no idea who he is or what he has done wearing shirts with his image on it. Seriously if you go up to a teen wearing a Hendrix shirt 1/3 cannot name ONE song, they just wear it because Hendrix is EVERYWHERE...you never see any one wearing Janis shirts because she is still kept close to her roots and not too commercial...which I like...

The are both legends...and its not Jimi's fault that he seems so commercial now, even though his music is not....

i think musically, hendrix was more important.. just so much talent, who knows where music would be today had his life and career not been cut so short... but janis broke down a lot of social boundaries and stereotypes in her similarly short life and career... she was the first female singer to really be accepted in mainstream music (in my opinion, she was also the greatest white blues singer EVER.. not just women either), and she really paved the way for women in music by gaining respect (although the 80's and the britney spears' of the world would later reverse janis' accomplishments by at least 15 years... :))
