I have been collecting pieces of sea glass(softened by water) for a bit now, and I've got quite alot... SO here's what I started to do and hopefully you can do it to if you've got glass... okay so Ii got my coat hanger wire, thin bendy copper jewellery wire, scissors/wire cutters and the glass... I cut and bent the hanger wire into two small equal sized squares. (wide enough for a tealight) then, I attached the wire to the hanger bottom square and left alot free, and I did this alot so theres alot of copper wire. Then I took the wire and bent it around the glass, and around other pieces of glass, and all over like a cobweb, with each 'strand' of wire. So theres a web of wire and caught in the web are a whole bunch of pieces of glass.. then I attached the other square at the other end of the twisted, glassy wire, to its 2 squares, bottom and top rim. I can look for a picture online to show you, cuz I know this isnt an original idea... Just thought I'd share in case someone couldnt decide what to do with their glass.
It would be great if you could post a pic of this. I have a ton of sea glass and access (for a week or so) to a beach full!!! I have been collecting and have some pretty pieces and figured i would make them into jewelry but it's always nice to have other uses. peace barefootnikki ps... where do you collect your sea glass?
Hey, I collect seaglass too. Next month I am taking a basic jewelry class. Plan on starting a buisness just making jewelery ( wire wrapped) out of it. Don't ya just love the stuff ??
