Hey now beautiful people! I have some lingering questions from some crazy events of this past summer that I have not gotten anwsered. I was at Wakarusa this summer and apperently I was a "graduate" of the festival, whatever that means. At the end of the festie people gave me all kinds of stuff, a walking stick, a bag, boots, a dread bead and a leather bound journal that had been previously used. People were offering me rides all over and jobs for the summer. Also it seemed that there were always people looing in my direction, seeing what I was up to. It was really weird and it didn't help the fact that I just had an awful trip because I couldn't find this girl I had met and I was searchin for her all weekend. I was a mess. But anyway... what is the deal with this? I heard people arround me sayin' "we had a graduate this weekend" and all this shit about a graduate. Was this just something I dreamed up in my acid binge of a weekend or are there really "graduates" selected from festivals or gatherings? What is involved in the selection? I got a major head trip after that was all over, it was very strange.

no idea dude, unless you had done something that really impressed them & they thought you were allittle above & beyond the typical fest crowd, & perhaps shoulda been at a gathering instead?? i dunno or maybe u tripped so hard they thought it ws a learning experience for u? or maybe u flipped out so badly they were amazed u survived? who knows
never heard that phrase before. there's a lot of power over at gatherings though. people testing you. its a load of crap if u ask me, there are people out there that want to make u think that they're on the inside and you need to try and get to where they are.
