This is an important question and one that every Christian should be able to answer. So lets hear it!

Jesus is not the only way to God because Christians say He is, but because God says He is. It is God, out of His mercy and grace, who has provided the way to cleanse people of sin and enter back into relationship with Him. For humans to think that they can invent ways to find God is delusional and means that there are potentially endless ways to find Him. Jesus is the only way because He is the only way God has provided, not because Christians want control over who can truly find God and who can't.

The sacrifice of Jesus is the only way to deal with the problem of sin. I don't think other religions truly deal with our sinful nature. People say "why can't I just turn to God to ask for forgiveness, why do I have to go through Jesus?" The reason is that if a sinner turns to God to ask for forgiveness he/she is still a sinner. A perfect and holy God will not relate to a sinner. You must have you sin forgiven through the blood of Jesus before you can turn to God.

    Any corrections? Additions?

True, maybe not "delusional", just "misunderstanding".

but, it might be argued that since God is infinite, shouldnt there be an infinite way of connecting with God?

Butch, you're really coming off as a fanatic...doesn't play real well here except with a couple of individuals.

Sorry, but it is an important question. I'll learn how to communicate with less fanaticism. Thanks for the tip.

there are as many paths to god as there are people alive right now, everybody is different and thus everybody attains god in a different way

when it was said that the only way to god is thru jesus...christians got confused about what was being said, first of all I think most of us are familiar with the idea that we are a combination of mind and body or consciousness and material form. when jesus said the only way to the father is thru me he wasn't referring to his material body like we all have to worship this blob of decaying matter that makes up the physical form of jesus but the consciousness of jesus or his mind...to attain god we have to go thru christ consciousness or bring our state of consciousness to that of jesus

This is all based on the assumption that the christian god is real. Not everyone starts out with that assumption.

The Creator of the Universe and the Maker of every soul alive on Earth was inaccessable until 2000 years ago? No one on Earth until that time (and most people for a long time afterwards...1500 years for Native Americans) had any connection or contact with this omnipresent divinity?

Further, how can a God that knows all and everything (having created it) not understand or relate to a sinner? Is this out of the realm of his understanding? Just how small IS your God, anyways?
