I agree with Ruby The eyes are really brilliant, as the man certainly was! I can't wait to see some of your new work, if this is a year old.
I'm glad you like it. I'm currently working on a painting that I actually posted the other night after I had a bit too much wine. *grins* It's far from finished so I yanked it back down in a hurry.
yay! another graphite artist, looks great. I encourage you to post other stuff and take a look around in the art forum, i can't say i've ever seen your stuff in here before
Yeah I've never posted here before... Unfortunately I'm my own worst critic & until recently I've destroyed everything I've ever done shortly after finishing them. I always find something I did wrong that bothers me until I end up just throwing my work away. It's sad but it's something I've started to get over. I'll post some of my other stuff here once I finish. I think you guys will like my current painting.
The mustache did actually have shading... I removed it. I didn't realize it at the time but I didn't put enough of a variant between the skin tone and mustache... He looked like he had a fat lip basically... I can only remember him with white hair anyway, which is why I just removed the shading all together.
its lovely... spl the eyes..and the skin rendering. as someone mentioned ealier..i think the extremly white moustach maybe a bit peculiar on a highly rendered sketch..maybe u could render it a bit to give it a slight volume!! even if it is white hair..perhaps define a bit of the hair. excelent work again....very inspiring! do keep posting more
aside from my critisicm of the mustache...the shading everywhere else is actually really defined and...amazing. i really like this man.
golly I've got to echo what everyone else has said--incredible work, love the contrast and rendering. Moustache is a little off, though that's the only thing.
