    hey all

i've done quite a bit of camping but ive never actually organized a trip before. so me and about 6 friends are going north for the weekend, we'd like to camp out both nights and climb a mountain in the meantime. i'd climb anything, but my friends arent the strongest climbers so we need to go someplace moderate, but still pristine. got any ideas?

more importantly, i have no idea how to go about camping up there. do we need to register a campsite? ideally, id like to just veer off the trail a few hundred feet and pitch the tents in a clearing. is this legal? is it done often? i dont want to pay for a campsite, and it might be too late for reservations. do they fill up real quick?

im an experienced hiker, but the ligistics of this are what gets me. any information on how to go about it would be appreciated!

ps-the white mountains are the likely destination

    cheers

hunting season is "FIRING UP" and make sure you and your buddies got orange on. I am from maine and now I am living in new jersey and I know that hunters aren't the brightest of people but what would you expect from americans. BE CAREFUL!
