Inspired by the coffee thread I really love japanese green tea, peppermint tea is great too. Next year when i start hiking again I want to pick some leaves of some of the more sagey minty plants and make tea out of them. what kind of tea do you all drink?
Tea is made from the actual tea plant. Steeping chamomile, peppermint, sage, etc. in hot water is called a tisane, not a herbal tea. Got nothing to do with tea. Give me straight up Lapsang Souchong or Earl Grey for the quieter moments - both rugged Victorian English teas.
cinnamon cardamom jasmine or else regular red rose tea if I want the caffeinated kind. but the cinnamon cardamom stuff is outrageously good, i dunno what I'm going to do when I run out (my mom bought it for me when she visited arkansas a while ago)
that sounds good earlier this year i picked up a book about wild teas, and you can make a tea out of sooo many different wild plants so far, i've been sticking with the basics: blackberry leaf, rosehips, nettle, etc...
