Well, it worked both ways in most cases. Men worked and defended, and the women cared for them, cooked, cleaned, and raised GOOD children with their father's names so that the fathers could be proud. What made us want more was the attitude like yours, like the menfolk were'nt getting satisfaction at home. In most cases, they had warm meals on the table, someone to dote on them when they walked in the door, listen to them, make them FEEL powerful, and they thought of it as a nothing. It wasn't good enough. So it made us feel unfulfilled, UNAPPRECIATED, so we went out for more. You brought it upon us, males! On all of us!
It's interesting that the battle between the sexes has basically ended in a surrender. Women are saying enough of men, let's get pregnant via IVF Men are perming their leg hairs and becoming metrosexuals. You go your way, I go mine.
well, women had to get some rights, man. you can't argue against that. well, i know iron_goth can, being a woman-hater (and probalby freshly divorced, too). but if women like my mother were stuck with men like my father, this would be atruly ugly world. men can't be relied upon to provide for their families. this is not somethign that happened POST women's lib. but now the women have jobs to come through when their impotent husbands do not.
your right.... but now that the tyrany of families and religion is gone ...now that theres equal pay and access to jobs ,,,,most of them dont pay enuff to live on ...so everyone works their life away while deepening their debt .....sad ...pwople deserve a life ...not this bullshit .
absolutely. both sexes. the minute you have only one person to rely on to provide for you is the minute you lose all your freedom.
Oh, I totally agree, KC. There ARE deadbeat husbands and fathers (and always have been) so women did need some guaranteed rights in the event that their husbands were abusive/lazy/nowhere to be found. We needed the right to divorce & maintain some property, work, take custody of our children, vote... But I think in some ways it's gone too far in the other direction now.
in a few areas maybe. but that's what we're all discussing here. though at times it's hard not to be totally insulted at the perceptions iron_goth likes to spout.
RE:and you do know that men rule the world still, or did you just change your mind? hmm Men do not run this world.
no one runs the world....the people as a whole do. everyone needs everyone to live cuz none of us are God or attain as much power as he has to live so independently. we live. we learn. thats just the way it is...and we are all dependent on each other. we were all given different abilities and talents...intelligences and creativity...once we learn to accept these differences as beneficial to all our lives...like fitting the puzzle together...the world becomes clearer and more appreciable. not to mention more love to share. but anywho, i suppose thats only my philosophy of it all. everyone is entitled to their own
So you like the amazons eh? you do know they are extinct too eh? maybe thats why women don't rule the world. eh?
Haha, ignorance is so funny. The Amazons didn't live on ancient Crete, silly. In fact, another culture moved in and assimilated the culture to their own. Like Mark Twain once said: "It's best to keep your mouth closed and appear ignorant, than to open it and remove all doubt."
Things ran so smoothly before men started to claim that they were superior... Men are so fucking stupid sometimes... just because you have a penis, doesn't mean you're smarter/better. I have a penis, but, I'm not a man; I don't see where there should be a divide in the equality. And, some women are just as much at fault... some do not do their part. I do mine.
I'm suggesting that one looks at the ancient cultures, before the patriarchy was the standard... When it was matriarchy, roles were equal and divided based upon each gender/sex's strong and weak attributes. Things were better before men thought that having a penis = superiority...
