yay! she's 3-1/2, she's been to 7 classes, and alraedy she's diving, floating, swimming and able to swim to the bottom of a 5' pool, grab the little ring, and swim back. she's on the waiting list for the next class up, but the coaches enjoy teaching her so much that they're going to try to get her in. swim coaches are talking about my little girl in thei little meetings and such. she's also kicking ass in her gymnastics class, though that one is only once per week as opposed to twice. she can do a headstand, walk the balance beam, jump from crazy heights and flip with the best of 'em. thank god. i came from a super athletic family, and i never had any coaching, being a girl. so i never had any skills. but not kai. she LOVES it. show her once and she's got it.
hey, that's awesome. i still can't swim. i'm about the least athletic person to ever walk to planet, though. i'm hoping to get levi in swimming lessons when he gets old enough. where is she taking her classes? the ymca?
at the rec center here in town. a lotta place have parent and tot classes. that's where we started kai. dave takes her, which is awesome, because they really needed to re-bond. these past few weeks ahve been pure heaven for him, getting his sweet girl back AND seeing her totally kick ass. but some people are in the class with kids less than a year old. those classes are really to get the child used to the water.
they're trying to get her in the next class up, but she's on a waiting list. we're determined not to skip any time for her swimming, since she's making such progress. so one fo the coaches offered private lessons, and i really think that would be a great idea, since she has a knack for it and won't have to wait for the rest of the class.
