On a whim I decided to go rent a movie. I only had enough money to rent one, so I decided to go for Lost in Translation. The film was just absolutely astounding. Sofia Coppola did such an amazing job, writing and directing. She really shows you how to two main characters, Bob (Bill murray) and Charolette (Scarlett Johansson) really feel. It's like she puts you right in Japan with them. She has a really strange idea of humor too, which was great at alienating the main characters. I'm really looking forward to purchasing this. So... any fans?
Big fan right here. This movie kind of reminded me of my life... as I don't really sleep too often and I tend to do most of my activities during nighttime. That part of the movie kind of made it especially cool for me, but it's a great film and Bill Murray always awesome.
I really enjoyed it also, although a lot of the people who I know that have seen it seemed to find it dull. I think because they either didn't pay attention, or didn't understand the simplicity of it, that was the beauty.
i thought it was really great. my brother recommended it to me. he bought it on dvd the day it came out... the only problem i had with it was how the main humour in the film revolved around "this american guy doesn't speak japanese". I got that he was alienated the first time they did the joke. The other 25 minutes of the same joke got a bit boring... but the last hour was great...
I loved it. It was beautiful and sad, but in a good way. I love Scarlett Johansen or however you spell it. And of course Bill Murray is awesome. I love Sophia Coppola's directing style. I especially love the soundtrack from this movie. Anything with My Bloody Valentine, Air and Death in Vegas.... ahhh, good stuff.
i watched it on my own and got some great vibes from it. The great thing was that they didn't waste it with a traditional ending.
