I was just wondering whos been in one, im curious, so share you experiences, especially if you have been inside the tank in an altered state of mind
It would probably be just like being in a completely pitch black room with no sounds at all. I've heard of people that stayed in a pitch black room for days without sleep and began tripping their ass off. I've read that if you do this for long periods of time it causes more DMT to be released in your body causing hallucinations, but I doubt that it's true.
i'm sorry but i have no idea what your talking about. Are you talking about getting high while in the military? no clue
having no light effects the penial gland. its a part of teh brain that is actualyl sensitive to light. it produces melatonin, and they suspect, although they dont know exactly how, that dmt is also produced in that gland in the same way, or at least from the melatonin thats produced. being in pitch dark subsequently means that the brain adjusts for 'sleep' mode, and releases melatonin and subsequently dmt is produced. the longer the darkness, probably this effect builds up more and more. along with sleep deprivation, well staying up would be a task. but you would get pretty fucked up. however, i personally as skeptical as to whether this is healthier, or even as healthy, as taking drugs, particularly hallucinogens.
You probably wouldn't even have to stay awake, just living in a pitch black room for days on end would probably have the same effect. It would probably just be more pronounced with the sleep deprivation.
Arrghhh, there's a guy who did this while on shrooms many times as an experiment. Why can't I remeber his name! Anyhow, A real sensory deprevation chamber is completely sound proof (as well as anechoic) and completely darker, I've heard of some actually containing a pool of water you sit/float in at some temperature so that it feels like skin temp so you can't feel any pressure or stimuli from sitting/standing. Apparently the mind starts to hallucinate just like as if you were tripping.
ive done it. it was in a tank like in that simpsons episode, horizontal with water and hundreds of pounds of epsom salts for bouyancy. so you go in naked with your face dry, and you float effortlessly on your back. its perfectly warm and relaxing. total darkness and total silence, yes, but the thing i first noticed even more was the floating, its very close to what your body would feel under zero gravity that is your muscles dont have to do anything and they dont feel any pressure from the surface you float on. at first my back was a bit tense. it takes a short while first to relax your body, then even your mind, and then yes eventually there are some interesting changes in consciousness. the more often you do it the deeper you go, so ive heard. you go in for 1 hour sessions and when you come out of the tank there is an incredible euphoria and physical sense of wellbeing, your body feels super... and your senses are a delight. good floats take preperation and practice i think... and money, 30 dollars for 1 hour float session, i think thats with the student discount too.
i can imagine what it would be like when you get out.. i once sat in a room watching a movie.. but it wasnt a cinema it was just a room with a screen, and the fact that it wasnt a cinema meant that i didnt have the contrsutct of being at the movies.. i forgot all about my body, and when i got out, everything felt fresh and vibrant and more real than real.. so i could imagine total deprivation would be that feeling but exentuated if you rmind cant take cues from environment, it will take them from the mind. teh principle of sensory deprivation is hence similar to that of acid.. what happens then is that certain senses take their information from the brain instead of from nerves coming from the sensors.
they had one of those in a tanning booth when i was a kid so i went to check it out, it was odd. it didnt deprive that much of sences tho, for one thing the water was at 98 degrees and my body temp is only 92 or so, and i could hear myself breathing and my heart beat was thundering in my ears. I played with my heart rate for a bit then fell asleep, i dreamed i was drowning but could suddenly breath water, kinda scary. what was cooler was a precog room some friends in tenesee built. what they did was take an old root celler, put a huge mirror on one wall and a small candle behind my left shoulder in a way that it was not reflected in the mirror. I sat there in a comfy recliner and stared at he mirror for a few hours, in time images began to appear, sorta a crystel ball thing, very cool
haha sorry gotenks, you could have just googled it but i spose i should have explained myself better, well...in some day spas or places where you would go to get a massage & that kind of thing they have tanks where you lie in salty water (which gives the zero graviyt effect) the water is same body temp so you cant feel it if you kept still. its pitch black, & you cant hear anything, so it deprives you of all your physical senses, & some people say its supposed to be like tripping, yes just like that episode of the simpsons, just about any reall life situation can be refered to the simpsons hehe anyway i want to go in one on while tripping, sounds like an intense experience, i like doing experiments like this
