There are some types of weed that i smoke that really make me really OCD like obsessing about shit and it totally sucks. On the other hand, there are strains that make me laugh really hard and others that make me chilled out. So i was thinking why do certain strains produce certain effects... They all have THC afterall. And also am i the only one on hipforums who is affected differently by different types of mj?
I have no clue why different strains affect people differently, but I've experienced this too, as I'm sure everyone else has as well. It might not even have anything to do with the strains, it might be something to do with the presence and quantitiy of certain chemicals in your body at different times. Who knows for sure?
There are more than one psychoactve components in MJ. The other main cannabinoid is CBD. Different varieties have different ratios of the psychoactive compounds, which in turn act differently on the human body when ingested.
there are quite a few different cannabinoids in different quantities. the ratios vary from plant to plant to an extent even within a strain, but outside the strain, and more importantly between the two main species of cannabis, the amounts of the different cannabinoids vary quite a lot. the result is they all have a similar feeling effect (they all will get you stoned) but each strain has its own high
it's not just the strain either if one were to smoke freshly dried bud it would be a different high than if the same bud were cured
yeh, the fresher and earlier it is smoked, the more 'high' it tends to be, becuause teh cannabinoids that give the high, more fresh feelings eventually turn into the ones that make you 'stoned', when exposed to heat, light, plant secretions, and other cannabinoids. for example, hash is teh least fresh of all for it has been subjected to lots of stress and compaction and so all teh cannabinoids move onto their later stages by the time you smoke it, so hash is famous for its very deep, mellow stone. they say that many of the cannabinoids in cannabis are not found to be psychoactive.. but thats probably just bad studies.
