dern it.... wish it was next summer cuz i'm startin a wedding dress biz after my honeymoon(our wedding day is a couple weeks away and the honeymoon is mid august) and i'm gonna specialize in hippie'ish gowns and i wanna offer maternity wedding dresses. though those are hard to order too far ahead due to not knowing how big you'll be on the day. but sadly i'm too booked with work, wedding stuff, and other orders to take anything on fer now :( good luck!!!!!

Why is it that almost every home made clothing site I come across always has pictures of SOLD clothing, and usually aren't accepting new orders?

i can't speak for everyone.... but i'd say most of us out here can't make enough money to survive on sewing full time(just imagine how long it takes her to make those dresses on snake mountains site... and those prices are a minimum to cover her time and materials) and sometimes you gotta take bulk custom orders from shops and that takes away time from the gorgeous art stuff on the sites. so most of us have to have outside jobs.... juggling that and just general life stuff.... you maybe end up with enough time to make one decent piece a week if yer lucky. hence why i wanna specialize in bridal gowns and formal goods. you are more likely to be paid what its worth since we're more conditioned to spend the money for the workmanship on those. ;)

I can chime in with artists would rather take custom orders than make "rack wear."
