Is this a great idea or what? i mean, people who are depressed and take drugs like zoloft and paxil most of the time don't do anything. But when you feel depressed and you take a bunch of hyrdocodones or oxycodones, you feel great!!! HAHAHA!!!! Ya but the chances of people seeing it this way is pretty small. I also recomend white widow for depression. I know you all are going to think i'm some stupid idiot but still its a funny idea. however if they did prescribe cannabis or oxys for depression i sure wouldn't be complainin!
I wouldnt be complaing either, Opiates make me the fucking happiest person alive, oh being a opiate addict sucks though... kinda.
Dude, you have no IDEA how great 'your' idea is. Having tried over TWENTY different medications, suppliments, acupuncture...you name it, to combat serious depression. I finally figured out the one thing that does work: synthetic opiates. Are you ready for the really fucked up part? My psychiatrist told me that many of his depression patients have come to the exact same conclusion as I have, and if not for the threat of DEA thugs revoking his medical license and throwing him in prison with the rest of America's 400,000 (!) 'drug criminal' political prisoners, he would gladly prescribe me all the oxy I need!
The truth is is that oxycontin does not creat ANY physical problems - it has no added bulls*** to it like acetaminophen that destroys the liver. The DEA makes it so that pure hydrocodone is not available in our country - there has to be all the other ingredients. The reason why they add aceta, ibu, or antihistamines, is so that people can't shoot it. It's sooo stupid how they give us prozac and paxil. First of all, they don't do shit. Second, they have sooo many unpleasant side effects. It is important to point out the DEA's stance which is that if that were to happen, we'd have a 100 billion drug addicts, which is bulls***. I mean, hundreds of thousands of people in our country die of lung cancer and emphysema from cigarretes. They also say that if someone was prescribed to oxy and they drove a vehicle, they are more likely to get in a wreck. But this argument is rediculus because as i always say EVERYONE is responsible for their actions
well, SSRI medications DO help quite a lot of people. i've taken both zoloft and paxil, and my reaction to zoloft was quite poor, but paxil helped me quite a bit when i was in that stage of my life. without it, i don't know if i'd still be around. opiates, while they may make people feel better for a little while, also tend to slow you down, make you sluggish, and tired. the sensitivity to light is a big problem for me, if i had been medicated that way...i'd stay inside in the dark listening to music and eating pills all day if i'd been given them as a psychiatric medication. while SSRIs aren't perfect and not everyone responds well to them, they DO have a positive effect on enough of the population, while allowing them to perform in their normal, everyday lives and responsibilities, that they are hands down a better alternative to opiates, IF the patient responds well. though in reality, i dont see them as non-addictive. they make people feel better (often) and thats a very strong means of reinforcing a behavior, plus you need to ween yourself off of them....i tried stopping by just not taking them anymore when i ran out, and suffered a three day headrush so bad i considered stealing my brother's meds, just because i knew they would make the effects of quitting go away. with opiates, you'd have a significant portion of drug users claiming depression just to get pills. you'd have people getting hooked and taking more and more and more to get higher and higher as their tolerance went up. you'd have a tremendous increase of availability of pharmaceuticals on the black market, and i'd imagine there'd be quite a few very serious problems coming from using opiates as the first (or even second or third) option for treating depression. i think they should be available to be used for this purpose, and i think that the government has no right to tell doctors to use anything but their best knowledge and intentions when prescribing medication....however, i still would never support a move to make this a COMMON means of treating disorders such as depression or anxiety. there's just too much risk.... i think it would be much more reasonable to support medical marijuana for depression.
