Blue spectrum fluro?

are blue spectrum lights worth anything? if they are can I get a tube that will fit in my fluorecent lights that is blue spectrum?

 

Yeah man, I have a 2 foot floro fixture with one agrosun floro and one floro that gives of light just from the blue end of the spectrum. I got this at a petstore in the aquarium department for just $15. So far I have 5 seedling that have been under the lights for about 2 and a half weeks and they are 4 inches tall with nice thick steams and full leaves once i put them under a HID it will shoot up like a bean stalk.

Carotenoids, the yellow-orange pigment in plants, absorb blue light and control leaf fall and fruit ripening. Riboflavin, containing another pigment, absorbs violet light and influences “phototropism,” the movement of plant foliage in response to a light source.
