I just saw a commercial for some shit that you're supposed to give your whiny-ass little prick kid because he has a motherfuckin' SNIFFLE... I forgot the name of the medicine (glad to), but that too-fast asshole who explains the drawbacks at the end of the commercial said that "side effects may include headache, viral infection, sore throat, nosebleed, and cough." Since we KNOW that you can't cure a virally caused cold with anything known medication (the wisdom is that you have to let your body take care of it on its own) the only reason to take something for a cold is to get rid of the uncomfortable symptoms associated with it. IS THAT WORTH GETTING A FUCKING VIRAL INFECTION OR A NOSEBLEED?!?! -peacefuljeffrey
any medication that blocks symptoms is toxic and pretty much pointless... but the pharmacuetical companies will get whatever money they can.
"Medicines" targeted towards children are what make me most angry. Hook 'em while they're young, right?!
I agree wholeheartedly. Medication is used frivilously, for any little ailment, no matter how minor. Of course, many times, one has to choose between what symptoms they would rather have, and as in the example of having the sniffles, or a viral infection and/or nosebleed, I think I'll stick with the sniffles thankyou. In addition to that, do we really know what these meds are doing to our bodies? How many meds have been pulled off the market due to severe complications, even death? Many, and a majority of the time, these cases are "hush-hush". My three children have never once been on an antibiotic, knock on wood. Luckily I have found doctors who share my same viewpoint on issuing medication. Only when absolutely necessary. Otherwise, we'll go natural. No side affects, right?
whats the problem? no one is forcing these medicines down your throats... you guys should chill out. Heres the solution 1) Dont take them 2) Dont give them to your kids 3) spread the word, and politely spread knowledge about their true nature
medicines are problematic and cause side affects because they are made from CHEMICALS....if you notice the homepathic remedies contain NO side effects. if you are having a problem, its a result from what you have or have not done in the past..like not eating healthy, not getting enough water, etc...and you symptoms are a warning - your body's way of saying :hello! pay attention to me and take care of me!...its like when people eat tons of fast food and wonder why they have high cholesterol or high blood pressure, so they take medicines that cause nausea and diarrhea and nosebleeds....lol
I think it's funniest with drugs like Prozac and Zoloft, where, on the ads, in a miniscule print at the bottom of the screen is a list of side-effects. They include things like sexual impotence and fatigue. It's best when side-effects cancel each other out though, like diarrhea and constipation. I saw one for aspirin that could cause old men to grow breasts. Viagra has some of the funniest side effects, and warning such as "if your erection should last more than three hours, consult a doctor immediately"...or go visit the Guiness Book of Records. I'd just rather not take medicine with such extreme side effects.
the homeopathic medications for children's nasal congestion have to be given frequently, at least for the first couple of doses. my children object to taking them. but i get great results with aromatherapy and herbal tinctures, prepared by a professional herbalist i know.
What about the ones that bring on sexual stimulation--"Side affects include internal bleeding, headaches, nausea, vomiting, burning pains while urinating..."
a listed side effect doesn't mean you WILL suffer from it. just try it and if you get too much side-effects stop taking them. i mean aspirin has stomach bleeding as side effect. that doesn't mean there's blood in your shit everytime your treat a headache.
I think I have an alternative opinion to most of you. At times drugs such as Zoloft and Prozac are honestly helpful to people, despite their wicked side effects, for people who cannot leave their house or carry on their lives due to severe chemical imbalances they can be more helpful than harmful (even with the side effects), if used properly. By "used properly" I mean, there's a lot of work ahead of you if you have to go on these medications because if you don't fix what's wrong with you inside, then you'll be trapped into them, which I believe is a huge epidemic in western society. I think the real issues are doctors oversubscribing medications for people who do not need them and not giving them or somewhat making them also go to councelling or some other form of therapy to aid them in their healing process if they do decide to prescribe them...another issue is parents who take their children to the clinic everytime they have a runny nose...that's really not what it's there for.
