I dont know, maybe ask G.I Joe... edit* I guess on those GI Joe short cartoon things where theyd have those kids doing something stupid and then the person tells them how stupid, and the kids are like, Now I know..and GI Joe goes, and knowing is half the battle... i guess the other battle is the other battle called life? heh, i dont know...
knowing is half, caring is the next quarter and fixing is the last example, most people will never know how painful it is for others to be around them and so they'll never fix it those who do know probably don't care those who do care probably don't know how to fix it i.e. knowing is half the battle I hope this wasn't a joking rhetorical question....
good idea: finding easter eggs on easter morning bad idea: finding easter eggs....on christmas morning i loved animaniacs!
well, we used "knowing is half the battle" it in the context that you now know what you have to get done, so go and get that task done. we know we have 2 days until parents weekend, so we do what we need to do and make it to parents weekend. Morning Call we did freshman year 5 times a week: "Sirs, good morning Sirs This is the outstanding Norwich University Bravo Company Sirs Today is the 28th day of the 9th month of the year 2005 This is the 1st call for morning formation Upper-classman you have 20 minutes to fall in Freshman you have 15 minutes to fall in Seniors attention Seniors you have 227 days until graduation Juniors attention Juniors you have 208 days until Junior Ring Ceremony All attention All you have 2 days until Parents weekend Now you know, and knowing is half the battle, goooooo Joe" ahhh, memories from freshman year...
i think caring comes before knowing if you care about someting but dont know about it, then how are you supposed to do anything about it ~as an aside, gi joe promotes the mindless obedience of being an automaton-like soldier, so i dont think caring really enters into that equation--i think the other half would be unquestioning obedience. *hurl*
Why don't they run those things anymore? Do kids these days not like GI JOE? I think the two parts of the battle are knowing and doing something about it. Knowledge and Taking action.
I didn't like GI Joe so much growing up. My brothers would harass my barbies with them and that wasn't very cool. But they're okay now. Has anyone seen the GI Joe animations on ebaumsworld.com? Funny shit. On topic, what is with people saying "knowing is half the battle" lately? 3 different people have told me that in the last week. Is there something going on I should know about?
military culture, even archane and artificial military culture gets a huge build when we are in a war, real or false.....
