What was the first album or song you listened to or concert you went to of the Grateful Dead?

 

My dad told me to buy Workingman's Dead, so I did, and it was good.

the first grateful dead song i ever heard was sugar magnolia. i didnt even like it...
i later became a more relaxed person and then started liking grateful dead so i bought the american beauty album, now i love sugar magnolia!

The first Dead tune I ever remember hearing was Uncle John's Band growing up back in the '70's. But I didn't realize it until I heard it again in the late '80's! First show was at Rich Stadium in Orchard Park, NY...6/13/93.

very cool. My dad's first album was American Beauty, so I'm trying to 'borrow' it from him.

 

Wow! My uncle is a HUGE Dead Head, and we used to spend a ton of time at his house, so I probably heard them all the time when I was young and just didn't know who they were. The first song I remember listening to and knowing it was the Grateful Dead was "Uncle John's Band".

 

My first album was American Bueaty... I was hooked

 

Ripple or Casey Jones both of them blew me away.
