What do u do to get rid of it ? My fucking friend was over here surfin the web right...then he clicks on some cartoon joke things...and it's this cat laughing at you...and then it froze up everything....Now i have pop ups everywhere and my puter is running slow..Norton knows it's there..but cannot do anything to it...i don't know what to do....i was just sewin, minding my business and andy had to go and get a virus put on my puter.... He thinks it's funny..i don't....i'm the one whose left w/ this fucking problem.... can anyone give me some suggestions......
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/ this site usually has the most recent trojans around. I suggest looking up the most-recently discovered ones, and seeing if it matches the trojan file you have (which should've been provided by Norton). If you can't find it on this site, try typing in it in on Google and see what that gets you. Depending on what kind of trojan it is, you may have to just delete a few files and some shit in your registry, or you could have to do a complete reformat. Since you said you got it just by viewing a website and not actually downloading something, you shouldn't have much trouble getting rid of it.. Good luck!
Also, the pop-ups that you have coming up are mostly likely from some spy-ware programs that he got from similar websites. Go here www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware and download "ad-aware", which will fix that.
If your getting pop ups while surfing it's most likely adware/spyware, everyone should use either Ad-aware or Spybot Search and Destory. If you think you have a trojan one good way to look for one is to go to your Dos prompt and type in netstat -a and look at the ports you computer has open, here is a list of some well known trojans and the ports they open.... NetBus Pro: {1243} NetBus Normal: {12345} Subseven 1.9 & 2.0: {1243} Back Orifice: {31337} {666} Deep Throat: {6670} {6671} Blade Runner: {21} Win Crash: {21} {3024} GirlFriend: {21544} Hackers Paradise: {31} {456} Delta: {26274} {47264} There are by far more Trojans than that but honestly I don't think you have one, if you did have a trojan you most-likely wouldn't know it till someone 0wN3d your box If you could tell me what Norton is telling you it might help, from what i know (lol and that's not much ) i have never seen norton pick up either spyware or trojans, but on the other hand i have never known a virus to "infect" it's victom with pop-ups, that's spyware type shit. As far as Trojan's go well there like putting a back door into your computer, and well think of it like having a back door to a slaming club, the less people that know it's thier, the more the few that do can party inside...lol, So anyway drop us a line on what your Norton is telling you , and if you have time do a dos prompt : netstat -a and let us known what that brings up as well.......
Norton is saying i have some kind of virus...but it cannot do anything about it...it is called trojandownload.exe or something....i found it one night all hidden in the puter..but it won't allow me to do anything to it....and i do have spyware...and spy blaster..but it doesn't work....i run it and it skips like hundreds of things...i know cuz it says like ad goblin..and it passes it...it just gets 20 of them each time...I didn't have pop ups before i got the virus....i don't get it....i'm pretty pissed off at andy..we just got a new hardrive..i had a virus before i think and it crashed my harddrive...so everything was great till he started surfin the web here.... somebody help ! lol my parents are pissed at me and i don't know anymore then them...cuz i didn't do it!!!!!!!!!! and btw kit...thanks for helping me.....i appreciate it ............
Well i don't know if you tryed this but here it goes. Go to Control Panel and then go to Add/Remove Programs, then just select the programs that you want to get rid of. Also you might have to get rid of some of that shit manualy if you can, the files ad goblin uses are ftpcutrs2.dll, iudq.dll, icbmp.dll, DRMV2ICLT.DLL, Daxtime.dll, thid.dll, eventlowg.dll, dandgerous creatures.dll Just to a file search on each of those names to find them then delete them and empty your recycle, and reboot. As far as the Trojan goes i am wondering if you maybe dont have Trojan.Downloader.Aphe Check out symantec for how to get rid of it. I am hoping that their anti-virus works for you, if not and you Do have that trojan you might have to enter the windows registry yourself and manuly delet the registry keys it created/changed. Click Start, and then click Run. (The Run dialog box appears.) Type regedit Then click OK. (The Registry Editor opens.) Navigate to the key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run In the right pane, delete the value: windows33 Exit the Registry Editor. it might look like %windir%\windows33.exe You always want to back up the registry before messing with it TRUST ME lmao.... but other than that, you could go to RUN: msconfig and just unselect the trojan/virus/adware or whatever you got, in the start up. Anyway drop me a responce on what turns up, last thing i would try, and this is after trying some other anti-virus softwares out, (I have never been to found of Norton), would be to do an XP go back.. A good program to keep watch on your registry and help keep your computer from installing these annoying things is WinPatrol oh and if I was you, I would have me send andy a floppy disk full of nasty stuff\ or just ph0wn his box lmao anyway i got to jet, drop me a post on if any of that stuff works for j00 there is always more things to try... p3@c3
http://housecall.antivirus.com/housecall/start_frame.aspThis seems to work for us. With so many people using this comp, and HALF of them visiting "free" porn sites, we sometimes end up picking up a LOT of shit. Plus the bitch-ass kazaa on here tends to flood us with buggers. We also use ad aware and Spybot S & D, and it keeps us clean.
No no, everyone is telling you how to get rid of the Virus the WRONG WAY. OK look man, you try to delete it, yet you can't...some write protection bullshit right? OK well it's simple. Turn off your PC, Turn it back on, hold F7 down, select running your windows in SAFE MODE. Once in safe mode, just go back to where you found that EXE file, and DELETE IT. It should delete it into the recycle bin, then just delete it for good. That should work, works all the time. Peace
Look guys...thanks soooo much for your help...BUT...i tried to delete it in safe mode and i could only delete half of it....WHAT NOW!~
Can I do that...cuz that is totally an option...can i take it all off and just put everything back on...cuz u know there is nothing on my computer because we just got a new hardrive like 3 weeks ago....???? IS THAT AN OPTION THAT WILL WORK?
Reformatting a hard-drive is almost always an option. Here's a website on how to reformat a hard-drive: www.cyberwalker.net/faqs/how-tos/reinstall-faq.html .
Download CWshredder from a dowmload site (do a Google search) and run it. This may well help. Spybot Search and Destroy is sadly out of date now, it hasn't updated itself since March this year, lack of funds I imagine. Adaware always works for me as well.
