I used to think it was pasta (especially good old fashioned spaghetti), but truth be told I think it would have to be bread. First choice is extra sourdough and last is white (French) bread.

Potatoes! Boiled or jacket baked, delicious! 'Specially if they're straight from the garden and chucked in the wood burner... mmmm!

    POTATOES!

    Potatoes, potatoes, potatoes!

You can cook them a MILLION ways, there isn't a single way that tastes bad, and you have to practically TRY to make them taste like crap!

Not to mention, they are cheap, huge, and from Ireland!

    potatoes are a close second...
but bread is so the winner.

Especially fresh, hot, homemade rosemary foccacia. Sourdough and Pumperknickel are mmmm too.

and i love making bread as well, the whole process is just great, the kneading the rising, the turning of flour and water into golden goodness....

    mmmmm.

omg, no.. potatoes are absolutely disgusting! gross! I hate them! pasta is far superior. I love pasta, all types.. yum! Bread is also very yummy, of course, but pasta is definitely the winner.

Rice is good too. So many things you can make out of rice. Rice cakes, sweets, sticky rice pudding, westerners rice pudding, pilaf, risotto, rice noodles, fried rice, boiled rice. Mm..... rice.

I love rice and potatos. I used to be a huge bread fan, but it's hard to find whole grain store bought bread without honey, I don't have time to make it from scratch very often, and it has a lot of calories, so I tend to avoid it for the most part. My recipe for banana walnut bread on veg web is to-die-for, though, and I have to whip up a batch every so often. Mmmmmm, yummy.

Carbs seem to be my downfall...could eat them all day. Maybe that's my problem with losing weight.
Even tho I still like potatoes I eat rice more now.
I love bread, especially homemade! wheat, banana-nut, zucchini, cinnamin raisin, homemade rolls & about any homemade muffins.
will also finish bags of chips, crackers, bagels while everyone else is sleeping.

I love potatoes. Like others have said there are so many things you can do with them. So many flavours you can add.

I love bread and some good sticky rice too
