This will probably sound really gross but I need help! I've been stretching my ears for a while now, but one thing I've noticed is that they smell really bad! Shampoo, dead skin cells... just generally is pretty rotten! I need to find something that I can use to clean my lobes that will take away the smell, like perfume, but it can't be alcohol based. I'm a bit dubious about using chemical based stuff coz it'll probably do more harm than good. Any suggestions? For either something I could buy but preferably something I can make for cheap.
    Ideas appreciated!

its really common for stretched ears to do that...take out the ring and wash your ears with porocide..dont clean the ring with that though,,,it can make them crack..just wash the ring with soap and water

    We call it "ear cheese"

Its mostly soap and body funk.

It happens most on metal jewelry,
from what i have noticed, happens
less on plastic ones, and seemingly not
at all on horn or antler plugs.

But its just part of it. I just pop it
out, clean my ears and plug with
soap and hot water every few days.

Heron - you rock! :) Yes, ear cheese smells awful.. But usually if you're noticing it, you're probably not cleaning your ears enough.
I have my ears stretched to an inch, and I take them out and clean them every night! No ear cheese at all! (Plus I wear organic jewlery!)

NEVER use peroxcide on your ears if you're stretching!!! That bubbling you see from it, is it killing everything! Including happy healing new cells... (NOT GOOD!)
That and it dries the hell out of your ears.. NOT a good idea!

Yeah, my ears smell like an asscrack. I just put perfume behind my ears, it covers it up, and clean 'em every day.

That's not exactly true.. The smell comes from a build up of dead skin cells. Usually surgical stainless steel, and acrylic jewelry are the worst for keeping the smell down.
If you were organics, (especially wood) you may never smell the funk again. Of course, this is assuming that you clean your ears and jewelry on a somewhat regular basis..

(Think of an uncut guy.. the smeg that builds up under the foreskin stinks right? But if he keeps it clean then there's no smell!)

    Ta da! Disgusting analogies. :D

You were spot on, cause as an uncut man with stretched ears, i can vouch
    for your analogy.

seriously, many moons of guaged ears and liquid dial is my best friend,

at night when I clean my teeth I wash my face and pop out my plugs and wash them with dial and I do my lobes too. rinse real good with a wash cloth and dry them off. My ear cheese ain't no thing

That's completely normal. The bigger you go the stinkier they get. Mine are on their way to 5/8" and they smell so bad.
When ever you notive them smelling just take the jewlery out when you get in the shower and rub them a bit, then wash the jewlery and put some tea tree oil on your lobes.
