Like a story about Armageddon, New Orleans is facing the end of life as it was once known there. Now is the time for all good Americans to come to the aid of their fellow Americans. If America is such a great country, it should be willing to take in and provide for these people victimized by incompetence and a greedy misdirection of priorities. To prove Americans aren't racist, greedy bourgeois they now face a moral dilemma that will test their social philosophy, religious morality and political prejudice. The world is watching this new reality game. As Americans vote each other off Lake New Orleans, the world gets to sit in judgement of their actions. Will America prove itself, and rise above political, economic and racial differences and provide for the needs of hundreds of thousands of displaced people, most of them poor and black? Or will it squander this opportunity to prove to the world where it's priorities really lie? Will America continue to neglect and marginalize people who don't come from advantaged backgrounds? Unlike the rich and powerful, who can escape from such misery just as easily as they do responsibility. This is going to be a LONG term project on a scale equal to the War on Poverty (remember when wars HELPED people?). Will Bush and his cronies deem it beneath them to reprioritize their war plans? This is a moral dilemma they can't escape. And of course this is just ONE of the many karmic debts they've accrued on behalf of Americans.

So then, how have you guys shown your colors? I've donated half my paycheck to relief funds. And I make $7.10 an hour, paid biweekly. PS It's pretty convienent that this happened; now they don't have to talk about last weeks stampede in Iraq in which at least 700 people died.
There are a LOT of people donating their time and money. Radicals as well as anyone else. I don't think they have separate kiosks at the Astrodome for "Radical Food Donations" though.
I don't think America will respond in a good way towrds these people and really don't give a shit about them. Nor did they care about herding so many Native Americans into camps after destroying their homes-food supply and Culture. This country has the worst track record of how "The People" are treated. The entire country was built on Greed-Stealing OTHERS Resoucres-Money and taking what others had for so long here. This country is a baby comapred to countries that have histories/cultures that span thousands of years. I wouldn't be suprised if this country doesn't make it. It is on a track now that ONLY Revoluation will change. That Revolutaion is starting up right now and will be comprsied of many Hippies and other free sprited peoples. Young and Old! We NOW have no other choice but to change it and fast. The Floods and other weather changes that are going down now have been prophesied by many ancient cultures for many years. Change is good but hurts---but the alternative is worse.

It takes money to rebuild. You think their going to spend money to rebuild housing for the poor? Where's the profit in that? New apartments and new houses, means new higher rent. So it's either going to be a new people with more money, or no one. The Big Easy won't be so easy in the future. You wont' hear red-beans and rice simmering in the Jazz at your nice new Starbucks.
