im not inclined to think i have a weak immune system as i hardley ever get sick and seem to heal quickly when physical damage is done...however, EVERY night when i lay down to sleep my nose starts to run a little and i wake up in the middle of the night with a really stuffy nose and it continues untill the morning after i wake up and have been up for about a half and hour or so. now i know that everyones immune system is weaker at night and first thing in the morning but im not understanding what the problem is with my sinuses........

have you changed anything in your room? because it might be you are allergic to something, or something is irratiting you. for example a plug in air freshner can cause things like what you have described.

if it doesnt go away go and ask you doctor what it could be

Thats exactly what happens to me. I'm fine all day, then at night something weird happens. I live with my family so when I'm at home I spend most of my time in my bedroom and I'm fine all the time, then I'll go to bed and I'll start getting a stuffy nose. Maybe its the postition you sleep in? Or it could be the material you use on your bed? I use this anti allergy sheet which goes next to my matress (then everything else on top of that) and anti allergy pillowcases to try and stop it and it does seem to have reduced how stuffy my nose does get lol. It still happens, but not as bad so maybe you could give that a try.

it could really be the relative humidity in the room. that is why (one of the reasons), people get air humidifiers or dehumidifiers. i suggest (if you dont already do this), that you get one of those tools that tell you the relative humidity in the room to put in your bed room (i just woke up and feel slow and cant remember what they are called, lol).

    Hello,
When we talked earlier you said you have animals too. Do they sleep in your room with you? Okay I just answered my own question. You already said they sleep in there. But...even though you don't have a reaction to them any other time it IS possible that when you sleep their dander bothers you. OR you could be allergic to dust mites? I don't know just trying to help.

My mom is EXTREMELY allergic to dustmites (well, technically its their poop that people are allergic to)...it sounds like you guys have the same problem but to a lesser degree. Dustmites live in our matresses, sheets, pillows, bedding, and eat the dead skin cells that we lose during our sleep. We cant see them because they are so small. Having animals sleep with you means more dead skin (and dander) for them to eat, so there will be more of them. They make special anit-allergin matress covers and pillow cases to help the people that are allergic to dustmite poop, but the simplest soulution is to change your bedding regularly (at least once a week). Maybe try changing out your pillow cases more than once a week and see how it goes???

Good luck. I hope this helps at least a little bit.

do you have mold in your room?

hmmm, my nose usually runs a little at night too when I lay down. I just make sure I blow it before I go to bed, seems to help out.
