Ok, here's your chance, allmighty Bush supporters. Give us your five reasons why you wish to re-elect the man. And please, don't feed those who are agaisnt him, lame duck lines, like he's a man of good faith - how about some FACTS for once instead spouting off mindlessness.
There's more than just Bush, Kerry and Nader running. We also have: Michael Badnarik (Libertarian Party) David Cobb (Green Party) Michael Peroutka (Constitution Party) Dennis Kucinich (Democratic Party) Rev. Al Sharpton (Democratic Party)
I was reffering to people that are capable of getting more than 1% of the votes. The constitution party is about running our government strictly by the laws of the constitution.
1. Tax cuts 2. My dad owns a car lot, business is great, thanks to low interest rates. 3. An battle-hardened army. 4. Kerry is too socialist about healthcare and welfare for me. 5. Long term growth in the economy, which we are seeing now, is better than boom or bust growth.
The Constitution Party was created by Howard Phillips. Its initial name was the U.S Taxpayers Party. Basically, they believe in strong economic liberties but are 'limited' when it comes to civil liberties. Their views are very similar views to those of people like Pat Buchanan and groups like the John Birch Society. Personally, I'm disgusted that they call themselves the "Constitution Party" as some of their platform is, as I see it, contrary to what is in the constitution. http://www.constitutionparty.com
simple terms just like the simpleton mind of the current president. 1. Do you know who has truly benefited from the tax cuts? 2.Watch the interest rise by at least 2 points in the next year if not more, mark my words - plus last I checked interest rates were Greenspan's job, not Bush's. 3. Does 850 + dead , 5000 + injured and 20% of our forces suffering from PTSD a battle hardened army make? 4. I wasn't asking about Kerry's platform - what are Bush's view on healthcare and welfare - could you even contrast the differences between both of their policies? 5. Long term economic growth? Care to explain this one? What are the signs of it? If you had read my initial post, you would have seen that I had asked for actual facts and insightful political understanding behind the reasons, but as per usual with most Bush supporters I see in here, your arguements are about as convincing as saying, "Well, he looks like a nice guy, maybe somebody I could sit down and enjoy some pancakes for breakfast with." next.....
1. My family benefited, so try again. 2. Oh shit may we reach a 3% interest? Oh dear me that is so high! 3. The army has seen REAL war, so yeah try again. 4. Bush isn't nearly as socialistic, so yeah try again. 5. last year's growth, 2.5%, this year's projected to be 4%.
Here let me pass the syrup, enjoy your pancakes with George and your daddy at the car lot, come back when you have an understanding of what you'er talking about. just a hint - 2.5% growth in GNP which is mainly the only way the economy is measured in this country is less than the average annual inflation rate - even 4% is cutting it close. You better re-check your homework.
1. Tax cuts. I like the idea of running up half a trillion bucks in debt in just one year and the high interest rates and recessions that it will cause a few years down the road. 2. My dad has stock in Haliburton and Carlyle. Business is great, thanks to oil CEOs in the White House squandering tax payer money on non-competetive military contracts. It's means more money from my parents to buy more video games. 3. A battered army. It's great to see the troops stretched out so thin due to all the troubles in the world, lack of diplomacy, and all the countries that have lost respect for the U.S. The poor planning by the Pentagon is just awesome. 4. Kerry is too socialist about healthcare and welfare for me. It's great that the U.S. has no national health care system that most other industrialized countries do. 5. Meager short term growth in the economy, which is what we are seeing now. Better to think only in the short term and make your bucks while you can. And one more: It's fun having a President who doesn't even know how to talk.
1. I like Tax cuts too, and just about every tax-payer has benefited. 2. The interest rates are the lowest in more than 40 years! 40 years!!! I realize that they are going to rise, but anyone who understands econ, realizes that the reason for that is to keep inflation cool, and that it is the appropriate economic move. As far as Alan Greenspan controlling interest -- well he does have a lot to say, BUT: [1] Greenspan and every member of his board are appointed by the POTUS [2] Greenspan who has just been re-appointed by the POTUS will not be completing his current term {14 year term limit ends next year} [3] The Current administration is a much better alternative to appoint Greenspan's replacement. 3. Building the Army --- Very important. I trust President Bush to do this far far more than Kerry. And as far as "facts" go, there are lots of them to back up this argument. 4. 25,000,000 freed Iraqiis. What is it? 14,000,000 Afghans? {Afghan number off the top of my head.} 5. Long term economic growth.
1. "just about everyone benefited" - what, 90% of his two tax cuts went to the rich, and now we have a RECORD DEFICET. 2. Low interest rates aren't an indicator of a good economy, they are an indicator of an economy that is too shaky to have decent interst rates. 3. Re-enlistment is down, and the army bush is fighting with was built by Clinton, Bush cut VA spending by something around 1,000,000,000, meaning my grand-dad who fought in WWII now can't get a bed at a good hospital for his heart treatment without costing an arm and a leg. 4. Iraq is still a toss-up to where it will go, meanwhile in afghanistan most people are afraid to leave their houses, terrorists and warlords run free, opium is strong, and the 'free afghanis' are the ones that live within 20 miles of kabul. 5. Tax cuts and low interest rates have to be accounted for somewhere, like, the long run.
Again, where are you drawing your conclusions on long term economic growth? I've seen it from 2 people here and neither of you have backed up why. At least tell me you saw the information on a Bush campaign commercial so I can understand that you've simply been brainwashed and that is the reason you can't back these claims up. That in itself is the biggest problem with people today is that they simply trust the messenger without actually researching the facts behind the message. Is it from all the jobs we are outsourcing to other countries now? Is it all of the Walmarts, Fast Food chains and low paying jobs that accompany them sprouting up all over the country to replace these outsourced jobs that is your source for optimism? Is it the $300 average tax savings each american will save each year at the cost of each of us having to pay $4000.00 to cover the cost of the first year of the war in Iraq alone? Is it the Repuclican's support of off shore tax shelters for their buddies running companies like Enron and Haliburton to get even more filthy rich off of instead of paying honest ligitimate taxes like the rest of us? Again, go eat some pancakes with your buddy George and come back when you actually understand what it is you are arguing. Oh and lastly? You trust George over John in building an army? Hmmmm, lets look at this one, an AWOL deserting National Guardsman who had to fabricate false intelligence to gain support and start a war that had been planned 5 years prior to him taking office by his buddies Rumsfeld and Wolfowitz. Once this intelligence PROVED to be bogus how quickly he changed his tune from WMD and impending doom to liberation. There are a zillion places the world over in need of greater 'liberation', but we'll get to them once we secure our oil - if there is anyone left who wants to enlist under A Commander in Chief that LIES to his soldiers. The alternative would be one of the most highly decorated Veterans in all of Congress who actually can spell coalition and understands the importance of support and respect from the international community and would never put his soldiers in harms way unless it was the last resort and 100% necessary. I'm not saying there hasn't been any good to come of the war in Iraq, but every day it has been proven to a greater extent that it was not the last resort and was not necessary. Go talk to all of the amputees coming home and see how they feel about the war and their Commander in Chief.
Where is your proof that all the jobs are low level? Did ole bud Micheal Moore tell you that one? Jeez i sure do hate these low interest rates, gosh darn em i may have to pay little extra in the long run for my house! Kerry voted in 96 for a huge cut in military funding, so no i don't trust him with our army. Why would i want government paid doctors takin care of me? Why would i want to spend 100,000 dollars in college education so i can make the same amount of money as a fucking cop?
For the new jobs created, the average pay has been considerably less than the jobs lost during Bush's first 3 years, which shall I remind you again that during those 3 years this country lost the greatest percentage of jobs since the Great Depression? Pick up a paper, do a little research and you'll find that the majority of these new jobs were mainly in the service sector, ie. low paying jobs. Hmmm this month, 125,000 new jobs created. Well that's great except this country averages 150,000 immigrants whom are of working age per month. Bush calls that progress, he applauded it today? Apparently he needs a better calculator. It's a net loss, which he doesn't fully understand. What have your GREAT interest rates done? It has inflated the housing market at an absolutely ridiculous level nationally over the past 3 years - if you got in two years ago excellent, anything since then you'd see NO difference. Mark my words, in the next two years you will see more foreclosures on homes than ever before. The low interest rates were there because the economy was suffering - not exactly something to celebrate. Trust me, you'll never see the US healthcare system fall into the public sector, but there is this little thing called a budget that if down right (eliminating tax shelters, corporate loopholes etc.) health insurance would become more affordable - I beg you to find anywhere that states Kerry is looking for Universal Healthcare - he isn't. As for military spending in 1996, what does that have to do with 2004? Kerry wants to INCREASE the size and modernize the military without increasing the budget. Bush has ZERO interest in increasing the size of the military. The increased expenditures are mainly centered around the NMDS, which has proven to be a waste of money time and again and would not be affective at all in fighting terrorism. Instead of adding more troops, Bush calls back retired personnel away from their families and when they actually do get to be considered veterans - he has proposed cutting aid to them. Kerry has proposed increasing pay for both active members of the military and veterans. Many people who get involved in the military do so as their family has been in the military - you think grandpa is going to encourage his family members to join the armed forces after he has his benefits cut? I don't much care for Michael Moore as all he is is a protanganist and never offers solutions. Again this has to do with the messages, not the messengers. The only respect I have for Mike is that he poses questions that everyone should be asking. The more people who ask questions the more people like yourself grievous will actually seek answers and understand what stance candidates have on issues and have a clue about economic and foriegn policy. Maybe after you finish that $100,000 education of yours and get out in the real world, you'll be a little more interested in actually trying to understand what the issues actually mean. Making an uneducated vote is worse than making no vote at all.
