And yes, this job makes me happy, because it will be my means to pay for my last two semesers of undergrad, so I can get my music writing job, and get paid o travel around and listen to music. So yes, working towards my dream makes me happy.

I'm a Music History major, a former Music Business major and my favorite band is the Talking Heads.

I was a politics major. And I can't tell you my favorite band. I don't know dude, there are so many good ones out there. I'd be embarassed to mention a few, simply because you sound like you know your shit and would probably laugh at my pathetic taste in music.

Do you play at all?

But, no way man, fess up, I like I broad range of music.

And yes, I have played piano and violin for 17 years. I sing some. I want to learn how to play the mandolin, Hammond B-3, harmonica, and I want a mouth harp.

I can play the guitar like a mother fucking riot. I can play some piano. But nothing special there. My voice sucks but right now it is asking (for most people for sure) "what the hell is a hammond b3"?

I'd say my taste in music is anything but broad. Here's just a few of my favorites.


Sigur Ros, Portishead, and the Used, The Mars Volta and Joni Mitchell. Floyd, Radiohead. Dashboard Confessional. Transplants and Rancid, NOFX, My Chemical Romance and Coldplay. Gomez, Hayden, Harmer, Slean and Tori Amos. Bjork and PJ Harvey. Death from above. The Cure, Counting Crows, The Smiths, Alice in Chains, K's Choice, Underworld, Peter Gabriel, Pearl Jam, Tool, and recently Bedouin Soundclash, mostly because I'm OLD friends with the drummer, but also because they play a hell of a live show.

 

ohhhhhhhh and Buddy Rich. I think he's my favorite musician ever.
