Well, I just got home from the first day on the new job. And after standing and walking around for 8 hours, my feet and legs are absolutely killing me! I think I'm going to take a nice hot bath later to feel better. But, I am feeling good about the job and working! Another long day on my feet tomorrow!
Ok, I'll bite... what is it that you do that keeps you on your feet all day? You sound happy about it even though you are sore...
I just started at a Rite Aid here in town, doing front-end cashier and pharmacy help. Today I was mostly in the pharmacy. Its not a huge job right now, but the Store Manager wants to make me a manager in 6 months (the minimum amount of time until I can get promoted), so it has prospects. Plus, after I get a new car and place, I'll be saving up for my last two semesers of my undergrad. So, say if in a year I have the money to go back, I could feasibly transfer to another store if need be. Yeah, I'm kinda happy about it. I like helping people. The people I work with are pretty nice. And people come in and tell you funny stories all day about their illnesses, or sometimes not so funny. But, its cool...I dunno, I like talking to a lot of older people....(since I was working during hte day, thats mostly who came in).
Sounds like you have a plan. That's cool. Congrats! Oddly enough, what helps me when I come home with throbbing claf muscles, is getting on a bike or running for a while. I know, that sounds crazy, but it gets the blood flowing again. Then after a shower, elevate your lower legs and relax. : )
I would love for you to massage my legs! And yeah, I think it will just be a bath for me tonight and then elevating my legs....oooooch....
Yipee! Ouch, and when I was walking out of the bathroom from starting to fill the tub, I stubbed my toe.
How sweet of you. Just go out of the bath, and I'm already feeling a lot better. My feet don't hurt *as bad*. And now I'm all clean and shaved and lotioned too!
you think you've got it bad? hey, my job keeps me on my knees for 8 hours at a time some days.... oh wait, no, thats my hobby, nvm, i dont have a real job
My legs are killing me as well, I know how you feel! The elevator's broken... and I live on the 3rd floor, so I've been using the stairs several times a day for 2 weeks, and I'm not used to climbing that much that often... my thighs are getting firm!! Yay!!!!
Yeah, thats the plus side o my legs and feet hurting, I know that they're going to get more in shape! Woohoo!
seriously though, how much does it suck listening to old people talk about when they are going to die and shit like that? It has always depressed me. I mean, it is fun to talk to old people, they have the weirdest stuff to say. But when they are talking about having their prostates and colons removed, worse when they show you the scars, man I just want to poop on them.
Well, I dunno, I liked he people I talked to oday, really nice and had a grea attitude about things. Like for instance, this one older woman has shingles. She has had them since July, and had to miss a lot of family gatherings because she was in the hospital for a while. They are extremely painful, she said she would rather have a double masectomy and a cesarean again all a the sam time than have shingles. Which is nuts to think that its just adult chicken pox. But, despite all that, she was joking about how good the pain medication was and she was just in a great mood. I think thats pretty inspiring. Also another woman who has colon cancer and was picking up a prescription, but joking about how horrible the medicine tastes, and just joking around and talking about life. I think those are two women who aren't really complaining, they're still living their life to the fullest they know how...
the worst part is that those two broads probably went home to their hubbies and complained about the pretty girl at the counter and how peppy she was and how nice her hair is and how they wish they could have hair like that again but can't because the radiation has made them bald and all the wig stores cater to people of 'other' ethnic background, know what I mean?
Haha...but thanks for the post laced with compliments. They looked like they had all their own hair. Just two sweet Southern women on my opinion, but who knows, I suppose it may be possible they're old witches behind closed doors.
once they turn 60, every woman is nothing but an old witch. Trust me on that. I've run into more than one bitter 55 year old who knows exactly what is coming to her in my line of work.
