I am trying to make a movie. One of the scenes requires me to cut myself with this knife i have. I've been trying to pierce the skin but i cant manage to get it to tear. I only scratch it badly enough for it to swell slightly. I know this is a rediculous thing to ask. but is there anything i can do to facilitate the cutting? a sharper object? a progression of cuts? I dont want to use fake blood or any of cinematic illusion, it has to be a true cut. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED.
uh, yeah...why wont you use fake blood again? i mean nothing you can do except like basically stab yourself or take a razor and slash your area you want cut... im sure if you ask someone they would be more then happy to help you out in this situation...
well using a sharper knife would do the trick, but be warnedm you may cut deeper then expected. i did the same thing years ago for a performance thing, & instead of using a regular single edge razor blade we only had 1 of those very thin double edge types..& i can tell u they are extremely sharp..i barely dragged ait across my skin & it went deeep..& bled like crazy & i stilll got a scar from it.. your really better off faking it, especialy if your just using a knife..you can get a pretty nasty infection if your not careful, & if you do go deep & hit a veign artery or nerve, u can mess yourself up
Use fake blood drawn with the bulb against the knife. Believe me, cuts work one of two ways - with violence, which damages tissues, or real easy with a straight razor sharp object which will scar.
A RAZOR blade you say.....I'll do it What I'm doing is: I'll be cutting the female symbol into my theigh.
pro-wrestlers do it all the time, so I am pretty sure it is safe... just use a sanitzed razor, and use it like you'd use a pencil or a pen.
razor blades would be the best bet, should be painless as well.. just like when you shave your legs and you cut yourself dont really feel it but it bleeds like a mofo... good luck...
Just a thought why not use a craft knife... accurate, sharp as a razor blade and less fiddly that having something small in your hand.. you could do the circle in two strokes ...
