it really kills me how this country and all its "freedoms" are supposed to be choices "by the people, for the people" aka the good ol' citizens, but in reality, every 4 years we all get to choose one of several rich morons (usually the lesser of the evils) that promise to do great things and never get around to doing them, appoint whoever THEY want in the government offices (in which we have no say) and continue to pass stupid laws and bills through congress that really do very little good in society. anyone else agree?????
but his vetos are RARELY overturned because that would TRULY piss off the american public which truly has very little concept of what the president's role is SUPPOSED to be.
when was the last veto anyways? i know bush hasnt used any, and i cant remember any offhand that clinton did.

Well, america is a representational democracy, That means that we choose our leaders. Our leaders are still responsible for the running of the country, that means they pass their agenda. Every two years we elect people who have enough money to convince us that we should vote for them. Oh, and every country has nationalistic slogans, none of which are "we are number 2!" so don't go around pissing on America just because it thinks it's the greatest country on earth.
good point, actually. people do tend to love their homes the best. can't really get pissed with them for thinking it.
