What are the pro's (if any) and the con's about your job?

(not a great or interesting thread, but meh, what can ya do)

The pro's at my work are: paycheck, my own cubicle, what I do is pretty decent and I like, yeah i think thats about it...

The con's are: my co-workers, waking up at 5:00 and sometimes 4:00 in the morning, did I mention my co-workers, working late cause my boss told everyone that they could leave and having me cover for them, long drive, dealing with some of the people higher up cause they are arrogant asses, the creepy ass security people they have working there....

pros - i work for myself, no one tells me what to do, the amount of money i make is up to me, i get to be completely creative all the time and there is no dress code

cons - not a guaronteed income (some customers on ebay never pay), i don't get a weekly paycheck, i find it easier to blow money when i don't have to sit in a cubicle all day doing data entry...............

pros - discount on our product, paycheque twice a month, mostly good coworkers, commission is actually attainable and is 9% when you get it. In a mall, thus food with discounts is available

cons - manager who's going through menopause hardcore, manager who always has to have someone on her shit list, in the mall where all the little 12 year old mall rats hang out, competitive sales to get commission, not getting enough hours yet (part time), have to stand on my feet all day

pros - I get fed sometimes, can cuss really loud, its easy to freelance there without getting caught, free unlimited mountain dew, smoike breaks whenever you want (within reason), after work, the bar is 10 feet away, lotsa hot ass girls, close to home.

cons - bitchy ass coworkers, coworkers that cant keep up, the rugs and carpets and fans that are all over the floor are more of a hazard than the wet spots are in the first place, sometimes i gotta work til 3am, its really loud, and 25 cent wing night is insaine

cons - i have to wear shoes. sucks when i have a headache. watching kids eat animals. some of the staff thinks they can boss me around  .

The pros? Well, being that I'm a stay-at-home mama, I have no boss looking over my shoulder. I do what I want. I can spend every minute with my little ones, because goodness knows they grow so fast! I may not get a paycheck of monetary value, but what I do get is worth so much more than that. Hugs, kisses, countless "I love you mommy", mass compliments on my cooking and ability to maintain an orderly house, and the satisfaction that I am nurturing my family, providing a happy, healthy home environment. My husband appreciates all that I do, claims that every cent he earns is my hard earned money as well, and loves that he has a wife who takes good care of him. ;)

The cons? Lonliness. I tend to feel alone much of the time. That may sound silly considering that I am home with my children, but it's not the same as adult company. At times, especially recently with my oldest son attending kindergarten, my days seems even more lonely being home by myself with my 2 year old twins, who of course, are in the lovely terrible two's stage and can test even the most patient person's ability to remain calm under pressure. ;)

Really, that's the only con that I can think of.

I have taken up volunteering in my son's kindergarten class once a week so that should help the lonliness a bit. I also plan on doing the whole PTA thing, and will more than likely end up being the dreaded "soccer mom". ;)

My job: Designer for an Indie Record Label

Pros: I do what I love, I have all sorts of awesome gadgets at my disposal (macs, photo printers, awesome digital cameras, any design program you can think of, etc.), I get to be creative, I'm able to spend all day on Hip Forums if work is slow, my co-workers are wonderful, good location, nice graphics dept., I get crazy overtime, good money.

Cons: Crazy overtime, crazy deadlines, crazy customers.

PROS- (I run a newspaper) : delegating jobs, surfing the net, no bosses in house (I am the boss), creativity, adventure, etc.

CONS- Taking shit when things aren't up to par, dealing with two women who complain about each other all the time (behind each other's back, of course).

    Job: Dance instructor

Pros: I get to work with kids all day, I get paid to listen to music, I get a good work out everyday (and get paid for it!), I have 150 little friends, I don't have a boss breathing down my neck, I don't have to wear shoes, I can go to work in my sweats, I get to use my creativity, I can have dreads and piercings and it's all just part of my "creative outlet", I don't have to deal with coworkers, I get paid a lot for what I do, and it's OK for me to act like a goofball.

Cons: Dealing with parents, stress during performances, it requires a lot of work outside the classroom, too, you have to act happy when sometimes you just aren't, and unless I open my own dance studio, there is no room for promotion.

    overall, my job is great.

I love mechanical things. I enjoy figuring out what's wrong with something based on my knowledge of how it works. And getting it right is the best, especially when it's something out of the ordinary.

But I work with the worst bunch of crying, petty, backstabbing rednecks you can imagine. They can't wait to find out something about someone so they can use it to hurt him. (One guy recently got a DUI, but they busted his wife for simple posession. That information convieniently made it's way to management. We have a zero tolerance drug policy...) And if someone even looks like they might want to move into management... OMG! You'd think they were Nazi's. You can't be different, you can't express an opinion other than christian right wing, and the slightest thing can set the dogs on your trail. Unreal.

It'd be a great job if they'd fire everyone and start over...

Job is stock at a pet supply store

Pros: just got a (meager) raise, like all my coworkers and bosses, been there long enough that I'd be hard pressed to get in any trouble, so I can slack off more (only when there's nothing to do...cuz I'm a great employee, haha), and also know my job so well that it's easy, I get to see dogs, flexible scheduling, it's only 2 blocks away so I can walk to work, it's not a desk job (I'd go nuts sitting in one place all day).

Cons: rather boring, no challenge, annoying customers (mostly old, ugly, and obese and who have just a few too many cats), lack of hot girls, have to clean up piss and shit, lots of dust so my allergies are always fucking bad. Have to wear shoes. Have to wear long pants all summer with faulty A/C.

    Boogabah, what is your job?

Pros- Cool manager, cool co-workers, I get to drive around town and listen to music, get to go to parts of town I would otherwise never go (ghetto), or on the flip side, I get to see fucking awsome offices in downtown.

Cons- Sometimes the customers are bitchy for no reason.
