Ireland is an island too, and doesnt it use Euros? Britain just wants to stay individual, the EU is too close to the Roman Empire, and they had a bad run with that one lol.
It'd be much cooler if all the countries that once made up the British Empire had a common currency, and a federal union with a central parliament, with all provinces and states sending representatives to that parliament, instead of the national ones (effectively abolishing the US congress, Canadian and British Parliaments and Senate/House of Lords, etc and replacing them with a central bodies, ie.. a parliament and a senate, while preserving local (state and provincial) freedoms ) It would pwn EU like a n00b!
The UK retains the pound because for the last 80yrs or so they've been bedfellows with the US....and when we do join the Euro....the dollar is effectively fucked
EU is nothing like the roman empire, roman empire was a military state, it won it's countries by war(more like the third reich or napoleons france), EU is more like the USA, which is bad, fucking capitalistic country, and yes the UK is a part of the EU, one of the founders of it actually... and the reason why you still use your pound is because the pound did not join the Second European Exchange Rate Mechanism (ERM II) after the euro was created.
most britians dont like to be considered part of europe but technically they are. i hope they dont give into havin the euros in the UK either cuz i love the british money plus, why go with the crowd. im glad the UK has its own individuality. N if i have to use different money when I move back there, it just wont be the same...
thanks for the feedback, Im into thwe oneworld thing, altho I like the fact that my land retains its own identiy
britain is in europea.. and is not using euros, they have pounds.. Euros are in germany, france, finland, and all the other european countries.. tho ya can mostly pay with euros in every country yer going to..
as we were in slovakia and luembourg, we were like.. yeah lets go to england through this tunnel and the we had to change our minds, couse the tax ya must pay for that is kinda way too much
We have the Euro in Ireland. As for the UK, I don't think many people there consider themselves Europeans.
