Looked for and couldn't find a faq, sorry if I missed it.

A guy I work with asked me if I wanted a plant that his old lady was making him throw away. A week later, he brings me this dried up stick w/ roots and a couple of leaves attached to it. I put it in a 12" plastic pot w/ Miracle-Grow potting soil and set it out on the deck. I topped it when it was about 2' tall. Now I have this:

Some of the leaf clusters are starting to yellow and fall off. I had to move it off the deck (getting too big and obvious) and it's getting a little more sun than it used to.

Anyone know what strain/type this is? I can get a better picture if that will help. Should I move it to a spot that doesn't get as much sun as it's getting now (almost all day, compared to noon to sunset before the move) getting? And last, how much longer before harvest?

    Thanks much.

leave the plant in the sun and let nature do its thing. Leaves are yellowing because it is ripening. They will eventuall fall off. When the hairs (like the ones on the top) are 75% brown or orange, you can think about picking it.

    Ditto to what dbreezeman said.
    Marijuana LOVES sun.
Be sure not to interrupt the dark cycle (no light getting to the plant during the night.

You can't tell a strain by looking at it but I can tell by the width of the leaf blades that it's an S-dom (sativa-dominant) strain.

Thanks for the replies. I've been reading through some of the other threads and forums and have picked up some great tips from you guys---*really* looking forward to doing this again next spring!

As far as light during the night---I guess it's never been in pitch black darkness. There is always some light from a street light or a window or whatever at some point or another during the night.

    Thanks again.

That yellowing could be lack of nutrients. Try a cheap tomato feed at 50% strength and see if it gets some color back.

This is only my humble opinion I had a plant that looked like that and it went funny cos I screwed around whith the light cycle & like GOLDEN said it looks like it could do with a feed.

    Thanks Rat.

If it gets any color back at 50% strength, go full strength after 4 or 5 feeds. If it changes again, go back to 50%.

It could even be a sulphur or iron def. Get back if nothing changes.
