Need Some Site Opinions? Please.

Ok I need advice, opinion, and tips. My gf and I are making our first official site. Its not completely finished but I would love to know what you guys think of it and what else does it need. oceandesigns2.com


Also, Im doing Affilation (kinda like sister sites). So if anyone interrested PM me or post in here your url and I'll add you on affilates pageafter seeing our url on yours.

It's really well organized, but maybe the colours could be more colourful? Grey doesn't say "bath products and candles" to me... but thats just my opinion!

 

Saying "I like ..." does not improve your site. After 2 minutes of poking around, this is a quick list of what I would change.

In your logo banner across the top of the page it says "Ociean Designs". Is this the spelling you want?

Your home page says "Welcome to Oceans Designs"

The red prices on grey background is hard to read.

Your product buttons are the same size as "Sign the guestbook" etc. Finding the product should be the easiest thing to do.

Your opening page is your logo, text and mostly empty. Images of product (with links) would fill the space.

You mention "bios coming" in your ABOUT US section. Do you want to tell people about your life or about your products?

Where do I find out what your soaps and lotions are made of?

"Necless" is misspelt on your custom order form.

Your "contact us" leads nowhere. I am assuming that this area is still under construction, yet your "comming soon" notice is missing.

When I click on an image to get a bigger picture, it opens a new window on that I have to close myself. You might want to write a page for each large image with Back, Close Window, or ORDER ME links.

"Handmade quality goods" might be replaced with "Handmade, quality goods" or Quality handmade goods." As it stands, it might be read that your goods are of handmade quality, but are not made by hand.

I like the plain grey design. It is a good background to highlight your product pictures.

There are a lot of words on your site that are not spelled correctly. Make sure you go back and correct them. I think a color change or maybe template change may be good, because you want your site to showcase your designs and products. The template you are using doesn't really say home made soaps and candles to me.

Your front page should really give your customers an idea of what kind of products you are selling. You should definitely have pictures and even a little blurb about what you are selling and how they are made. Make sure your site is user friendly. If it's too hard to navigate or too confusing then I won't bother with the site, I'll just leave and go else where. I think most people feel that way when online shopping.

hhmmm, aight I see all the errors, its hard to manage and fix whats going on with the errors when your editing and going through he products. The site I know is not ready to be released for public viewers YET. The about us page is suppose to tell bout the productes and about the ppl who make the products and what kinds of product they do. But I do see your point, I think I wrote that in a hurry cause my gf was rushing me to go somewhere while i was working on the site. Do you thinkit would be better to set up a FAQs page about soups and baths salts or write it in the product description? Some of the ingredience we use on some of the products are the same. Thanks for pointing out the errors, Imma go fix them now.

 

i like your site, and your products! personally, i would make the site A LOT more colorful... i think it would make people more apt to look at your products, but maybe thats just me....

 

Agree with above also on guest book page the blue on gray does not work - too hard to read - but I think you are going in the right direction

 

The main picture could use improving. Instead of showing a far-off picture of a bunch of your products, it would look better to have a close-up of just a few of your favorites. Something kinda like this:

 

well the site isnt mainly based on soaps and/or candles. But good idea tho, I run it to my gf too and see if she likes the idea, I was thinking the same thing lastnight. Thanks.The table with the products was a one sunday morning, we were selling in the church that we live close by.
