From "what I've seen", you could easily build/setup your own for a lot less money. And customize it to your particular needs.

I was going to post in here earlier but I'll add to what Grouch is saying. Not only is it easier and cheaper, a room is a room and can easily be changed back. A free standing room you'll have to stash or sell cause as a purpose made growing tent it'll no doubt come under 'intent' (no pun intended) legislation in some parts of the world.

If you can box the window in and make it look normal from the outside, paint the room flat white and add your kit. If you screw the window open a little with a bracket and then use a baffle you can exhaust through it depending on who and what's near the window?

I see these rooms on ebay for thousands but to be honest, if you have a room to put one in, use the room.

Thanks for your info... not what I am looking for however. I can have 6 plants legally and I only have a very small place so space is quite limited. I am interested in people who have had experince with the self contained grow rooms other than the phototron.

They are definitely pricey. I think ours was called supercabinet(?). Ebb and flow. It was nice for beginners but beside the $1000, maybe more, cost it had limitations. It took forever to arrive and was damaged in transit. The assembly directions were written by a pothead and were incoherent. Lastly the overall dimensions were 2'x3'x 6 feet high. If you give away a foot plus at the bottom for the tubs, and another foot or more at the top for lighting, you best be sure you have a low growing strain and read up on bending and tying. The size of grow tubs that fit into the 2x3 footprint (about 2'x18") when you factor in some room for fans, pumps, bubblers, etc limits one to maybe enough room for 3 or 4 mature plants. Having knocked it enough let me continue that we recouped our investment and then some with the first crop. It was a good system for someone who wasn't an indoor grower to learn on, and many parts of it remain in use . I can't remember who the vendor was some outfit in central California. We had been trying to use some company in Arizona but they couldn't get it together enough to ever ship the unit. It was also a lot smaller.
We also came to a caveat emptor about High Times... If a company buys advertising from them, bet your boots their product is going to get rave reviews.

you can definitely build one for cheap, I had a computer controlled c-22 awhile back and it wasn't to bad on the pocket book. I bought a kit from a website(I am new here so I don't know if I could post a link) it had a 600 watt hps, bulb, blower, and a pump for $325.00 I don't remember how much the c-22 was, from home depot, couldn't have been to much. I sperged and got every aspect computer controlled. The light pump and a floro, and fan was controlled, I was able to monitor my humidity and temperatures. and from the data I got from those I could keep the best possible environment
I had it set up to keep the never let the box get to hot. At a certain it would turn the fan on. If the temp kept rising(happened in the middle of summer) I had a fail safe. I had a couple fluorescent light in there and if it got to hot It would shut off the hps and turn those on. Some people said I probably lost some nugage, but I don't think so. heat can really put a stress on the plant and we all know that it will decrease the yield.
On top of that I had it set up to send a text message to my cell phone if it got to hot, or I love this. One of the best parts, if someone happened to open the cabinet. It was pimp shit. Produce very well too.

All said and done it cost me about 850. And that was with all the extras. I am a cheap bastard and find the deals.
