I just saw this movie last night and I thought it was pretty good.(For a Lions Gate film) Anyways, just wondering what everyone eles thought of it?
i saw it about a month ago. very good film but it was so confusing. it was like a pulp film (e.g - lock stock, snatch, pulp fiction) in the way that there were so many different storylines going on at the same time, but it was entirely based on racism. was it just me or did that old guy whose shop gets wrecked look like the guy off the stella artois add? lol. well worth seeing, just don't expect to understand it.
Seems like all the Lions Gate films have awsome preveiws and they look like they will be fucking fantastic and then its a big let down. When we rent a movie and put it in and see its a Lions Gare film my husband and I both say..Oh fucking great!
I saw it about a week ago, and was thoroughly impressed. It is a great movie that doesn't sugar coat anything.
I saw it last tuesday and id give it a 9 out of 10. I loved how it was presented and thought it was one of the best films of 2005. I actually like lions gate a lot more than most of the other studios out there. A lot of their movies are to my liking.
I seen this last week. Both Don Cheadle and Matt Dillon are great in it as is the lovely Thandie Newton who I remember from 'ER' on tv. Sandra Bullock and Brendan Fraser are largely wasted in their roles. 'Ludacris' also has a great part in the movie. The story is episodic then it all comes together near the end. Well worth going to see and much more thoughtful than the usual Hollywood fare
I thought it was intense and complex. Excellent movie. "It's the sense of touch. In any real city, you walk, you know? You brush past people, people bump into you. In LA, nobody touches you. We're always behind this metal and glass. I think we miss that touch so much, that we crash into each other, just so we can feel something."
I was fascinated. I'm friends with the assistant manager of a theater that showed it, and he referred to having a "religious experience" from watching it. I think he's not speaking literally.
