Why does Bono seem to think he is a world leader?

damn, the only good performance I saw on that whole damn thing is the foo fighters doin born on the bayou. at least someone had the balls to come out rockin, everyone else is all sappy and whiney..... ugh...... the funniest thing is seeing all these actors answering phones...... do they actually do that in real life??

  2. they answer enough calls (pre screened) to make people think they will actually get to talk to a celebrity, if someone sounds good enough they get bumped to that phone bank, if it looks good enough to encourage donation they air the call

I'd bet 30% of donations come in because of that

people want to be able to say "I talked to jack nicholson"

its still funny...... they dont even answer phones with cords on them in their multimillion dollar homes...... what a joke

  4. but you see you aren't supposed to be thinking about that, you are supposed to be thinking about the poor new orleneanians.....

Your money to help all these hurricane survivors"

I actually think the first one was a better idea, these sons of bitches are getting monet for this benefit concert, donate that, and what about x amount from their last movie?

perhaps Bono is a world leader..

..and maybe it's because Dave Grohl obviously started off the Foo Fighters by riding on the success of Nirvana and Kurt's death?

the world has been good to bono, he's enjoyed tons of success so why not give something back to the world

this is part of the reason why i like U2
theyre lyrics can be very politcally minded so its not suprising that bono has taken a role in world affairs. he's got the celebrity power to do so and can get world leaders to listen to him, thats pretty impressive.

i was so glad that nirvana and cobain were dead that i CHEERED when the foo fighters hit the scene. i bought their first album just to support the death of nirvana. and i think grohl is far more talented than cobain.

bono does all of these politically minded activities not because he really gives a damn, its just a really good way to get publicity to help him sell mediocre music

my favorite song by the foo fighters is the acoustic version of "everlong"

the memories that brings from my best years... driving in d.c. hearing it at 5 am...

    sooo bittersweet to me.

No one is more annoying than Dave Grohol and the Foo Fighters....that guy should have stayed behind the drum kit...their music is so uncreative, is that what people like about it?

Bono seems to mean well, but he is so overexposed..and in my opinion u2 has sucked for longer than some people on this board have been alive.

i like lots of the fighters music but gave grohl just makes me mad when i look at him.

they (and esp. him) seem to think they are the best band ever.... so fucking ridiculous.

which "new" nirvana song would you be speaking of, since nirvana ended long before foo fighters came about.
