I tried to post a few pictures through my scanner(hp psc 750) but the site wouldnt let me. It says that the limit for posting a picture is 97.7 kb, but all of the shots I took are higher than that. Is there anyway I can get around this problem? thanks.

You need a program that can resize pictures.

Just stop and think before cluttering up this forum.

Where can you find one? K, let's do this in a way that you'll understand.

Step 1: Put www.google.com into that long white space at the top of your browser.

Step 2: Search for tools that allow you to "resize" images. So naturally, type "Resizing Images" in the google search bar.

Step 3: If you have any further questions, please off yourself.

It may be as simple as saving it as a diferant file type...you may be scanning in as .BMP or .GIF, but .JPG will save as a much smaller file. I've moved this thread to the Computers Forum for better support.

Computer's posters...what is your favorite winblows freeware (not freewarez) image editor?

All images posted on the internet should be scanned or resized to 72 dpi as that is the resolution of most monitors. The rest is wasted, and creates a much larger file size.

If you're using photoshop, use the "save for the web" option instead of the regular save option. This strips out a lot of unnecessary data from the file & results in smaller file sizes.

Hell, you can use paint to shrink it. Though it might look like crap.

Oh, Really? Take an image that is 72X72. Open it with "PAINT". The only way to change the SIZE of that image,(There are TWO.) First, change the image Attributes. (You only get the upper left of whats left of the image.) The other is to change in the "Save As" menu. Like Xaos said, jpg is smaller. You CAN save as a .gif, but you lose all animation, unless you are creating one for the first time. Then, you create all the images you need, one at a time.

Bottom line, yes. PAINT can even shrink the thing. The file size depends on the COLOR RESOLUTION it is saved as. (In PAINT)
