whew, got a bottle of this stuff last night....kicks my ass faster than almost anything i can actually stomach to date. i was feeling it pretty damn well after only two shots. being 47% alcohol by volume, this was a bit stronger than i'm used to (usually 40% if i'm drinking liquor, usually i drink beer or sake though) got the bottle last night because i wanted something new to me, and while i'd had gin and juice at a party once i had no idea what straight gin is like. i've got to say that this stuff isn't really kidding around....if the burn doesnt command your respect, the fierce but pleasant flavor of juniper and other herbs will. mixes alright with ginger ale, but i prefer it straight at the moment. so does anyone know other things good to mix it with besides juice or ginger ale? i was thinking of making up some gin and tonics or something tonight....that sounds pretty good to me...
Gin and tonic is like my favourite summer drink. I'm a power drinker but a shot or two of TANQUERAY makes me a bit silly and I mean it. gin good stuff all around. Clear spirits is the best spirits!!
ugh....tried a few different drinks last night....gin and tonic is DEFINITELY not on my list of things to drink again anytime soon....maybe it would be good with some soda water and lime or something, though. that tonic water though....filthy stuff. never had it before, figured it would be pretty close to the same as soda water....whoops! what i found that is DELICIOUS though is an "orange bullet" http://www.mixed-drink.com/Gin/orangebullet.html
if it tastes as good as that bottle looks i'm sure it's great. yeah, i'm getting sick of this stuff, but i partly got it because i didnt know if i'd like it and if i didnt or it just got me super fucked up it would last me longer. i like it alright mixed with other stuff, but on its own its a bit too much. even mixed with things its doing a number on my stomach.... i probably wont get gin again for a long time, but if i do, i'll try something else.
i only like vodka mixed. for the most part if i'm drinking straight liquor it has to be rum. tequilla i only really like in margaritas....vodka in mixed drinks, but i can tolerate it straight sometimes....gin is ok straight but better mixed, you get the point. there are some good liqueurs out there, but most are too sweet to drink much of. but i like anisette and amaretto, and i like jagermeister a lot. i really prefer sake or champagne or margaritas if i want to get REALLY drunk....all are very easy to drink and have a really fun type of drunkeness....
straight vodka, rum, brandy...okay anything straight lol. drinking beer is so time consuming i dont know how u guys do it.
haha< I love to see the progression Nesta...and you do some funny shots too. I'd recommend vodka..mixed, people mix it... and you could toughen up and drink some makers mark bourbon
Tanqueray is my favorite gin. You could mix the I-don't-have-enough-alcohol-to-make-a-halfway-decent-drink recipe. Here it is (I made this when all I had was the following parts): 1 Part Vodka 1 Part Gin 2 Parts Whisky 1 Part Brandy 5 Parts apple juice 1 Slice Lime On the rocks It'll kick your ass; your tastebuds too. It's what I had left after drinking most of the bottle of gin.
