Hi, I was thinkin about finding some wood, maybe from trees or something (no harmful ways so don't worry!!!) and carving things out of it, maybe little leaf shapes for necklaces and bracelets. I was wondering though would it rot and how would i stop it from rotting? I want it to still look very natural, not shiny or anything. Sorry not very knowledgable on these things!:&

hi GreenBird! hand carved wooden beads is a great idea! the wood shouldn't rot. if you want to use a finishing product on it, just for extra care, you could use tung oil. my dad is a wood worker and he uses it on the toy cars that he makes. it seals the wood and gives it a bit of glow. it's not like varnish which is really shiney, just a slight sheen. plus, it's a natural product and it makes the wood feel velvety soft. :D
hope that this helps you out a bit and i would love to see the finished products!

sounds like a great idea :) i'd like to do the same myself, but there aren't a whole lot of trees around here so i'd probably have to buy wood.
