I've had my nose pierced 4 times but 'cos I'm allergic to most metals it goes all red and manky - not a good look! The longest amount of time I had one in was about 6 mths and I cleaned the wound/hole/piercing every day, so has anyone got any advice to make next time work please! Thanks in advance :)

Find a metal you're not allergic to.

^^^more or less what I'm gonna say. Try surgical stainless steel or gold. SSS is what most quality body jewelery is made from, so if you go to a good shop, they will have it. Gold is less common and more exspensive. You might have to special order it, but it is very uncommon for people to have allergic reactions to it. Most times people have problems with metal allergies it is with the really cheap jewelry that is not inert.

Also, you can try to find glass or acrylic jewelry. Acrylic is inappropriate for fresh piercings, though, because it cannot be autoclaved.

    Good Luck
