what is the most amazing or cool thing that your pet has done thats shocked you?

I have two cats, art and jurni. And at night while i was sleeping, he went into my room, opened by closet by turning the doorknob with his paw, jumped up on the top shelf, turned the light on (its with a string to a light bulb, you know the kind). Freaked me out! imagine sleeping and hearing the door open slowly, and then a light coming on at night!!!!!!! i thought it was a ghost, till i saw my cat. he'd also open the front door to my house, which i was living by myself, and that brought up many events involving me running around my house with a metal baseball bat and swinging like shit, thinking someone broke in. he can fetch too. those balls that have a little bell in them. he'll jump on command. i think thats about it. jurni, well, she doesnt do much, shes a loner, but everyone loves her cus shes so sweet.

my cats wibber, roonie and violet open the fridge, normally when there is good food in there, they eat most of it , i dont know how they do it though, its swings back and you have to pull it quite hard. i want to set up a camera to watch how they do it.

a couple of years back i had an asthma attack and didnt have any relievers to hand... my two Old English Sheepdogs didnt do anything amazing like fetch my medication but as i was panicking and struggling to breathe they just kept licking my face and pushing themselves against me...when you think youre dying its scary and their concerned attention calmed me down and helped me focus enough to get help.. it wont sound amazing to anyone else but to me it meant everything.. i love them to bits...

Once, when I was living with a couple friends, I got quite sick with the flu. I went to sleep one evening, and come morning, I had developed a really high temperature. My alarm went off (9am class) and I didn't move. BJ started meowing loudly... and eventually went down the hall and scratched at my roomates' bedroom door until they woke up. He then led them to my room, where they discovered my temperature and took me to the ER.

shades of "whats that Lassie? Timmy fell down the well?" ... haha

haha.. but its amazing how they instinctively know when we need help and somehow find a way to communicate their distress to others.

my puppy (rez dog...extra mutt) ran off with my friends wolf hybrid one morning. Long story short, a rancher shot and killed the wolf and shot my pup's foot off.

The amazing thing is that for the next week or so after this happend, the pup chewed the dead flesh and protruding bones so that the foot was able to heal. This was a good thing because we were set to put her down a couple days after she was shot because we knew she would get gangrene, we had already started to smell it.

She's got a will to live like no other animal I've ever seen. I guess we named her appropriately...Tocalla, which means "warrior" in lakota.

that reminded me of the first dog i ever had.. i wasnt looking for a puppy but a frirnds dog got run over leaving 6 three day old puppies . i took one in and amazingly he survived.. and we had an amazing bond... it grew up to be the funniest looking dog ever but sooo adorable but the local kids always teased him badly. one day Cassie got out and somehow managed to bite the leg of one of the boys that teased him and so sadly he had to be put down... that night and for about a week there was a scratching noise at the door...i was always too spooked to open it.when i mentioned it to a friend she said next time you hear the noise open the door and call Cassie in.. i thought she was crazy but the next night i did just that..and i never heard the noise again... i guess he just wanted to come home....

I totally get that. I had a similar situation with our Border Collie, Thea. She's such a sweet dog.

My pet rat Harpo stole all the Hershey kisses from my Halloween candy one year. he stashed them all thru my room and I never did find them all. Occasionally whilst cleaning his cage I would find a perfect unblemished square of silver foil! Sometimes there'd also be a half eaten kiss in there too. He'd eat it from the point down. I love my animals!

my cat goes on the daily walks with me and my dogs and whenever another dog is out loose and tries to run over to my dogs, my cat growls at them and literally chases them away...he will go all the way down the street chasing them just to protect the doggies. its so cute.

My dog Daisy wags her tail the wrong way - back and forth instead of up and down. Not really a trick, but strange nonetheless.

One of my dogs knows how to trade. If you have something she wants or is interested in she will bring you one of her toys or bones and want to trade with you. It is really cute!

When my family and I lived out in the country, we came across a German Shepard, which we named Thunder. Somehow, this dog unlocked the front door, and opened it when he wanted to go out. It was very amusing... Though we never figured out how he did that....

And yes, we did eventualy find the owner, though he left the home and came to visit us on his own sometimes.... No idea how he found the house either, since it was out in the country.

    i had a few,
i had a cat that grew up at a gathering (spent over 2 1/2 months in the woods) & every night she'd cimb to the top of a different tipi & sleep curled up right where the poles cross

i had a silver fox that when i'd take her for walks in the park usualy would make me walk in figure 8's for an hour.. you cant forse a fox to walkj where you want, you gotta go wherever they decide to take you.. for an animal not much bigger then a cat, they can be very strong..the funniest thing i ever saw her do was when i let her off her leash in the woods, she found a beagle tied to a doghouse & did the old foghorn leghorn thing, buzzing around the poor dog just out of his reach making him yank at his chain, i thought the poor dog would have a heart attack..

i also had a chinchila at the same time, who was a total pot head, he constantly stole buds right out of the bowl.. one time he snagged a bud bigger then his head (looked like a ganja hoagie) & ate the whole thing.. anyone whos ever had 1 of these critters wil tell u they like to zoom around & literaly bounce off the walls
well after eatting this giaant bud he was moving in super slow motion, & would lift his leg to scratvh & would fall over... that night i tried putting him in his cage to go to bed, but everytime i did he totaly flipped out, so i had to sleep on the sofa & let him hop all over me all night..when i woke up in the morning, he followed me into the bathroom, stood up on his hind legs & actualy danced a jig..lol it was soooo funny

& lastly my sister had a pomerianian, that i gave her after i found it n the side of a hughway.. this strange lil dog everytime it would take a piss would lift 1 leg then the other & piss in a handstand..sometimes wakuing down stairs or along a wall, in a handstand pissing/ strange lil weirdo..

i said that was the last 1, but just thought of 2 others
i had a seagill that only ate spaghetti, & a puppy that loved to eat used condoms..

    ok thats it

damn & thought of 1 more..i had a doberman, she was given to me cause her previus owner couldnt handle her, he actuay took her to a dog shrink who claimed she wa manic depressive..
i found she was always perfectly fine unless she was left alone or put on a leash, & then noone but me could get near her or if i locked her in my room she ate my leather couch & chewed through the door..but left to run free as long as i was nearby she was incredibly freindly...except towards heroin addicts..shed go after them everuy time..i had to keep her with me always, & shed even go to parties with me..
well one day there was a cat on a corner that had been hit by a car..she went right toit & was licking it..& when a car almost hit it again she gently carried it to the sidewalk & kept licking it while i looked for its owner..aweek later, on the same corner a van hit her on purpose & killed her..while she was trying to protect a freind whos ex was chasing her angrily down the street

another interesting thing about her was, she walways knew exactly what i wanted her to do, & all i had to do was snap my fingers & shed do it
(unless i wanted her to stop chasing junkies.. nothing ever stopped that short of tackling her)

my brother sam had a pet rat named billy jack Billy was cool, he let sam dress him up in costumes, even a top hat so he could be the best man at sams wedding. Billy would also clean the seeds from our pot he would carefully pick them out with his little fingers and take them under the recliner where he lived. Billy was also a bit of a clepto, he would steal any shiny thing that was small enough to carry, which was farely serious for a critter the size of an austrailen beer can.these things were also carried beneath his lazy boy.
one day, when we all had gotten back from a long weekend we were sitting around in somewhat of a daze, finishing the miller long necks left in the ice chest and reminising. When billy darted out from his lair ran to middle of the floor to where a dead soilder stood standing, and with a single pull he ripped the gold lable from the beer bottle. leaving it rocking but still upright. needless to say we were stuned for a moment, looking at each other in amazment. then we burst into laughter, very glad of so many witnesses. overall it was great ending to a memeorable weekend

My Friend (I'll just call him "Bob") and I used to always walk our dogs together. He would walk his Golden Retiever and I would walk my Siberian husky around the block every night. After our walk we would always just go our seperate ways.
One snowy December night, Bob decided to invite me over to his house, after our long walk. I agreed and off we went.
When we arrived, we both let our dogs go inside. And off they went galloventing & rough housing around...
Bob made a quick call, and I made my self at home.
A few min later I heard the door bell ring, and Bob went to answer..
I flicked on the TV, and soon noticed a HUGE 1000 peice puzzel that his sister had half finished, I started attempting to put it together.

Tikeya (My siberian husky) and Charlie (the golden) kept running in and out of the living room, Barking and playing.
Bob soon came back into the living room, and right behind him, his friend followed. I had seen his friend around school a bit, but never talked to him much.

They both sat down on either side of me, and I started to feel uncomfortable. My friend, Bob, leaned over to me and asked if I wanted to fool around. I said no, and called Tikeya.. She came bounding into the room, Charlie close behind, and then sat infront of the coffee table staring at me.

All of a sudden out of nowhere, Bob lunged hin self on me, kissing my neck and undoing his pants. I struggled, and then Bob's friend held me down tightly. I was freaking out, and started to scream. Bob pulled his pants down, and then started to undo mine. They were both yelling for me to hold still, and be quiet.

Then without warning Tikeya attacked Charlie (the golden), and he ran out of the room whimpering. I looked at her (with the 2 boys still on top of me), and started to scream.

Tikeya jumped onto the table, pieces from the puzzel flew, as is broke apart. She then lunged her self onto Bobs back, and started biting the back of his neck. He yelled, and immidatly got off me, to fight off my dog. His friend did as well.. I kicked Bob right in the knee cap and took hold of Tikeyas collar, pulling her toward the door. She was bearing her teeth and growling like I've never herd her do before..

Then Bob yelled at me, and said I better come back and fix the puzzel.. (asshole)

Then I grabed my shoes and ran outside (in my socks, in the middle of winter) and bolted down the street. Tikeya ran right beside me the whole way...

I wont ever forget what happened that night, and I Love my sibe so much for what she did to help me. If it was'nt for her, they would have raped me I'm sure..

Anyways yeah, thats my amazing story... I have only told a few people.
