In a previous post i made someone mentioned that drug testing is declining in the service sector, does anyone have any stats on what drug testing is like in general in the usa? Are the numbers of companis testing increasing, decreasing or what? Thanks for the info.
I have heard it is getting more rigerous, companies are now having people check for system clensers and blockers, and some places for more high paying jobs now do hair tests regularly. yup, its illegal to have control over your body, just let The State take care of you. you'll be just fine...
i found an article here with some stats in it , thought someone might be interested http://www.marijuananews.com/marijuananews/cowan/like_it_or_not_heres_the_cup_.htm
the US military has stopped drug testing activated reservists because they were all failing on purpose.
The rates of companies testing has actually gone down, while schools are testing more, especially for sports and other club activities. My dh's company (a very large American Electronics Firm) only tests with "reasonable cause" now (meaning you are really fucking up) because it was discovered that MOST people passed the test, and that they were spending more than $70,000 on testing to find ONE SINGLE drug user, and almost all of those were marijuana. So, they don't do it much anymore. My two older kids have pt jobs and only one place was going to drug test, Walgreens. I don't know if it was because it was a drugstore or what. But, I have to laugh when I see places like WalMart saying they test their employees. I would think it would be BENEFICIAL to be high if you had to work in that shit hole. Yeah, step right up, for a job with no benefits, minimium wage, no overtime, shitty working conditions, and drug test thrown in. Pfft.
YEah maggie thats the reason i hear a lot of companys are begginign to quit doing drug testing, because it cost so much and rarely catches people, and it allmost allways catches marijuana users to, it rarely catches the crack heads. And i totally agree about wal mart and shit.
It's only legal to test in public schools if the person in question is part of any extra-cirricular activities. Anyone ever see the Dilbert comic on this issue? Basically it goes: we aren't allowed to search your person, your car, or your house, but there is nothing illegal about sucking out your bodily fluids.
