Hi Ya'll, I'm back after a long sojourn. I'm sending an anti-war poem that I wrote just a few weeks ago. I hope this poem will put it all into perspective Since America seems to fall deeper and deeper into the Iraqi abyss. Your comments are always appreciated. Love, Peace and Happiness ALI I dreamed of Aladdin last night flying on his magic carpet high above the city of Baghdad, Looking down, he saw children crying for their dead relatives and he cried with them, He saw the bomb-pocked land and it looked alien to him no longer resembling the city he loved, This ancient city of Babylon was aflame with the fires of destruction and the madness of war, He saw the young of great nations clash and kill each other for the sins of humanity, An occupational force had driven one madman out only to be replaced by a far deadlier enemy, Aladdin gasped at the inhumane methods used to kill and the thousands of bodies piling up, And he sadly wondered when will it all end? When will the children laugh again?
great title first of all its good to read some words that use language to make a pictured-story of present events instead of just news. its hard to find a solace or accept some higher purpose for such chaos, its brutal to the insides to try. hopefully soon.. they'll laugh, sooner than later.
Thanks TundraLotus and Major Peacenik, Your comments are appreciated and I truly believe that the Bush administration does not understand the folly of their ways. It will be up to the Cindy Sheerhans and us to stop the madness and press these "American Idiots" (to coin a phrase) to see the light. Peace, ALI
