I am a marketing executive working for a multinational software company. My work includes sale and promotion of company products. Due to increase work load I have to work late night generally. Along with this I am fond of fast food and generally use to spend whole day eating only pizza, burger and cokes. From last few days I am observing little bit pain in the left side of heart along with this I am frequently suffering from headache. On visiting a doctor he told me that my blood pressure is quite high then normal. He prescribed me to take norvasc. Although I have full faith on my doctor but for my satisfaction and to be on safer side I want some information about norvasc. I will appreciate any information on this drug.
I copied and pasted this directly from webmd so here goes: Norvasc View images USAGE: Amlodipine is used to treat high blood pressure or chest pain (angina). Hello Kays, I can understand your problem. But I will suggest you to take proper sleep and to avoid fast foods as much as possible. These foods are good in test but they are very harmful for health. Norvasc is used to treat high blood pressure and chest pain. Amlodipine relaxes the blood vessels and helps the heart to pump blood easily. It is in a class of drugs called calcium channel blockers. It controls the chest pain by increasing the supply of blood in that area. However this drug does not cure high blood pressure and chest pain for ever but only control it. I suggest you to take proper medical care along with precaution as high blood pressure may lead to many other serious cardiovascular diseases.
I work in general practice and have never known Norvasc to cause any problems.. You really need to look into changing your lifestyle.. Pizza, burger and cokes is created the reason you need Norvasc..
bring better food for at least one meal, get away from the desk for 10 min to eat, get the best sleep you can (difficult, I know, I'm a reporter and I can go from bed to house fire in 5 minutes) don't let the job kill you. we work to live, not live to work.
