Perhaps I'm wrong, but I was under the impression that the United States Judicial System is supposed to be "party" free and have no view points. The soul purpose of this system is to judge without partisan. However, in a recent article on CNN.com it says the Senate would like to know the judges views before allowing him to be the Chief Justice. Time out here people. If someone is going to judge fairly and make laws for the better of anyone, how in the hell can they hold an opinion? I mean granted they can, but not in there office. This is one of the biggest problems I have with our political and judicial system today. Everything has become so about the parties and less about the views and what's going to get done. It's one thing to have it in the offices, but in our judicial system?? How is anyone going to get a fair trial if the judges go in there with presets of what's right and what's wrong. Granted now morals are a good thing, but not in the law. The judge interprets the law, not the morals, reguarding things. Just because he sees something wrong in his eyes doesn't necessarily mean it's wrong in the law's eyes. We need to get back to what our country was originally founded on, otherwise we're no better then rome was.... and look where it got them.

Everyone is going to have opinions, and they will judge based on those opinions.

I think we may go the way of Rome in the not-too-distant future. Well...maybe a little distant.
But the thing about the supreme court judges is that they judge the constitutionality of stuff(in theory), and those rulings rely on their interpretations of the constitution, which for some, seems to be freedom for all unless you aren't filthy rich or don't own a gun.

Right now, the Republicans (and Conservatives) are a machine. They work together. Big money usually goes to Republican campaigns, so Republican justices are going to be compelled to help out big money, whether it's moral or not, 'cause if Republicans were to lose more than about three presidential races in a row, they wouldn't be getting back up, methinks.

We need to get liberals on the court lest abortion rights get repealed, not to metion these judges (Roberts if he gets confirmed, other person) are going to be the one hearing the drug cases when,m not if, they get brought before the court.
