I'm a fan of cacti. I havent had one in years, so I figured I'd buy one. I got one which is about 8 inches tall for 15 bucks. But, I have no clue what kind of cactus I bought. It dosent say a thing on the label, nor did it say anything at the store. I'm stumped.

I've attached a picture for anybody who may have any idea:

    Thanks!

I wish I could help you there Kris but I'm not sure what kind it is. But cactus are funny creatures I know that. I have one, I call him Prickles and I've had him for a couple of years. A friend commented just recently on how he had not grown much or flowered. He is was only about 4 inches high, round on top and skinny at the base, and true, he had not changed much overs the years. But after that comment it seemed as though he started to grow!

Very happy with this, we made an executive desision that we would take him on the road with us when we leave to travel but after telling him he is now only a couple of centimetres high and gone all flat and funny looking!! Weird I know! Guess he does not want to join us after all!

    peace

    Okay
because I am an absolute fiend for cacti and succulents, absolutely adore these beautiful lotus leafed (sometimes) geometric spirits... I would recommend the cacti and succulent message board at gardenwebs.com

i have oft posted an image of my unknown cacti or succulent only to be met with stellar feedback and identification from true master gardeners.

beautiful one you have there... is the growth at the top new?

Looks like what I've seen labeled 'Bishops Crown'...because of the shape...and that growth at the top looks like it might be getting ready to flower
