by malika oufkir ABSOLUTE TRUE STORY this is my favorite book and the most inspiring book ive ever read. malika oufkir was born innot extreme privilege as the daughter of the king of morocco's closest aide. but in 1972, her life of luxury came to a crashing halt. her father was executed for attempting to assassinate the king, and she and her family were imprisoned for two decades. They actually locked up his wife and 6 childeren, one which was only a baby at the time. the mother and the youngest in one cell, malika and her sisters in another, and the oldest son alone in a cell. they couldnt see eachother, but speak through the vents. it was years when they finally let them out into the yard and they got to see eachother. its very sad, that the oldest had to be by himself, and the baby only knew prison life. and didnt have toys or anything. and malika had to raise and teach her sisters. they decided to dig a tunnel and escape, and actually make it. but more happens. i thought it was cool how the youngest saw the world for the first time, trees, grass, buildings, birds,. everything is completely amazing and new to him. it is completely true, and malika was even interviewed by oprah to talk about their lives in the jail. it takes 20 years for them to finally be free and to actually live their lives again. if you havent read this book, READ IT. ITS SOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOD and malika was able to hide some pictures and their in the book too.
Sounds good and it is well reviewed online too - I put it on my wish list (let them build up till you get free shipping) and am looking forward to it.
