One of my colleagues has a lazy eye. Her right eye seems to be looking past me to my left, but her left eye looks straight at me. Where am I supposed to look? If I look at her in her left eye she might think I'm deliberately ignoring her lazy eye, but if I look at her right eye she might think I'm focusing on that to the exclusion of her good eye. If I do the whole switching between eyes thing, she might get self-conscious about her lazy eye. I've always had a problem maintaining eye contact due to a complete lack of self-confidence, so looking her in the eye which doesn't seem to be looking at me is easier for me to keep up.

    What should I do?

Look into the one that she sees thru...i.e...the good one. That's the only way to make eye contact w/ someone w/ a lazy eye....since usually the brain shuts down the signal to the lazy eye so they're not really looking thru it.

I have a lazy eye and believe me, i've had some hassiling for it. all you have to do is just look straight at her face. Don't look at her eyes, it'll still look like you're making eye contact, though.

David Prowse has a lazy eye. That's one of the reasons George Lucas decided to get a different actor for Darth Vader's death scene.

Stick a pencil in one of the eyes..then concentrate on the one that still works :)

Act as though you're talking to two different people... Everyone's a winner.
