Okay I'm slowly loosing faith. I washed my hair, and its an utter disaster. i had fine straight hair to start with. now its just like.... random knotted pieces and tons of loose strands. Is it possible for my hair not to dread these pieces in if i wash once a week? because it would be equivalent to my normal hair just being washed once a week and staying as it is. I'm going to go another week without washing it. *sighs* I'm questioning whether my friend knotted my hair properly. I'm going to ask her to backcomb the back again to day .

    and words of faith?

how long have you had them in for, cause it seriously takes awhile.. i love my dreadies they are a bit rough and they are 8 months old. it really does take a lot of time for them to work themselves out. I have a couple smaller ones that just seem like straight hair that could be brushed. but i just leave it, and it never comes apart. good luck with your dreadlock journey

I've had mine for a year and I still have flyaways and loose pieces. IT'S PART OF THEIR CHARACTER!

patience.. you need a lot of patience... palm rolling, back combing.... it takes a lot of time and patience for your head to dread. My old man has had his forever and he still has a lot of loose hairs... they look really cool tho. It looks more natural. Just let them be and they will knot in time.

Patience, mang. Seriously. They're probably going to look like shit for a good three months.

Mine did. They just start doing their own thing, though.

If they're really bothering you, bleach your hair. It'll fry the shit out of it and make it nappy and dread up better.
