((((((((((((((Funky)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) (((((((((((((((Funky's Baby))))))))))))))))))))) (((((((((((((((Funky's Man)))))))))))))))))))))) Noh, it doesn't really hurt. I only had one, to determine if my last baby, who was a planned sections, was ready to be born. It was nerve wracking, but they were able to find pockets. But, in your situation, it won't give them more information than the birth will, UNLESS, there is equipment they will need immediately after the baby's birth, then you might want to talk to your doc about it. But, yes, it can put you into labor (it did for me, lucklily her lungs were mature, I am really glad I turned down all the amnios offered at 18 weeks with my other kids, my OB said the way I reacted to the amnio I would have been one to lose my baby at 18 weeks, if they had done one then. Of course, he was one who talked me OUT of the 18 week amnio anyway. (I didn't need much convincing, I didn't beleive in "fetal testing" in an otherwise healthy baby anyway. The only reason I was offered one was because I was "Of Advanced Maternal Age" when I was pregnant with Sage. There was no expectation of problems.) But, there may be information they can get, which might help your baby right after the birth. Talk to your OB and see if that is why they want to do it now. They can find a pocket if they need to. But, if there is no preparation they will need to do if (God forbid) the test is postiive, then leave it for the birth. Blessings.
Aww funkyphresh, I will be keeping you and your little one in my thoughts. Many, many hugs sweetie...keep us updated.
thanks for all the support and advice you guys. i hate induction but they are inducing labor monday night so they can do tests, the doctor gave us news that sounds horrible but the neurologist told us he had absolutely no news at all because the baby is too low to see the brain in the ultrasound pictures. they did a 3d ultrasound and his face looks completely noraml to me, we even saw him grab his foot and play with it...............................
Many, many, many hugs, positive vibes, support and love to you all funky. I will be thinking of you sweetie...
i'm sorry you're going though all this hun, but it is cool you got to see his face That's always very encouraging.
thank you guys so much.... i really think since he is moving so much and he looked good in the ultrasound there won't be any serious problems. i may be gone for a little while but i will update you all when i get home and I am sure I will have tons of pics to post
