Seriously, this guy is making a strong case to be considered among the worst Presidents ever. How that fuck did people vote for this guy? I didn't understand it then and I don't understand it now. He has dropped the ball yet again. A total failure at foreign policy, we now see that he is useless as any kind of a leader. Nice non-response to the disaster, DOUCHEBAG!!! Way to overstretch our resources for your own personal gain overseas, leaving disaster refugees helpless, hopeless, and abandoned stateside. Way to cut important domestic funding for things like public safety so that we can increase our military might. You are a joke. A cruel horrible joke. I'm really ashamed to be an American right now. At least I can say I voted against him...for what it's worth. "Bush administration funding cuts forced federal engineers to delay improvements on the levees, floodgates and pumping stations that failed to protect New Orleans from Hurricane Katrina's floodwaters, agency documents showed on Thursday. The former head of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the agency that handles the infrastructure of the nation's waterways, said the damage in New Orleans probably would have been much less extensive had flood-control efforts been fully funded over the years. (David J. Phillip/Pool/Reuters)"
why would that make you ashamed to be an american? hate the guy, sure..but ashamed to be an american because of one person(or an administration)? sheesh.
Oh yeah. And where IS the National Guard? Why a large percentage of those men and women who would be evacuating people, feeding people, getting people to shelters, putting up shelters, in essence, building a temporary infastructure to replace the one destroyed by nature and stupidity, are now in Iraq and Afghanistan, helping the adminstration avoid having to re-instate the draft. POLITICS!!! Con games. Slights-of-hand. Misdirection. When will the fours years be up?:$
Heh, you won't find that information in any mainstream media. It's a disaster for sure, but hopefully it'll open a few eyes.
I think we've disgraced ourselves as a country here. Like it or not, we all bear some responsibility.
I'm proud to be an American but I'm ashamed of the government. I was gonna post something about the lack of National Guard availability and Bush's gutting of the Corp of Engineers budget but Kilgore beat me to it. Bush has really dropped the ball on this one.
there will soon be 50,000 military personnel in the region..plus an armada of US ships. i wouldnt call that abandoned. Regardless. I find it sad how easy it is for you to decided you're ashamed to be an american. It would have been better to say that you're ashamed to be an american because people are looting, shooting at people, hindering the evacuations and other nasty shit that AMERICAN CITIZENS have done during this time of anarchy. Instead, you opt to blame just bush.
heh, it certainly is not only Bush, but who gets blamed when a corportaion goes down in flames...the ceo. There are some people acting like complete savages in there though, but lets not forget, this wasn't Dover, Delaware..its New Orleans, the murder city
I don't see why you've got to be ashamed.. I used to be, because it is (for the most part) Bush that the world sees as representing America. but hey, ive never supported the man... I have nothing to be ashamed of. Its not my/our fault that he's in office, there was nothing we could really do.
I agree, I'm not ahshamed...alienated from the mainstream plenty, but I don't feel much personal responsiblity here... I wish I could be happy about my country's role in the world though, and at the moment I surely am not When i abroad I use it as an opportunity to show that not all Americans are the stereotypes that they think we are
Agreed. The last two Bush admininstrations were not the only ones to ignore/underfund basic infrastructure repairs/improvements. Sadly there's a long history of this...
well right now they blame bush for the levee break , give it a couple days i'm sure some 1 will find a website with "proof" he started the hurricane.
Yes Bush caused/knew the hurricane was coming but didn't warn anybody so that the ensuing disaster would take attention away from Iraq, and plus the globalists want us all herded into evacuation centers so disasters like this will make sure we obediently follow orders next time. Futhermore it raised the price of oil and as everyone knows he is an "oil man" so therefore it helped him. Etc.
**found this on another forum site** For those Americans who think that government is going to swoop in and save them, I suggest you go look at the FEMA web site, and make special note that you are not considered "Americans", You are not considered "US citizens". You ARE considered FEDERAL Civilians, or FEDERAL Citizens. Make what you will of the "designations", but the bottom line is that the government is into protecting itself- those who are not important enough are left to fend for themselves. There is no more notion of "Civil Servant" within government anymore. _________________ Politicians? Sure you can beat them, just use a stick!
I can't determine if FEMA is being assimilated or replaced by the Homeland Security scam. It's a tuff call...
